Woman arrested for squeezing bread at Lawson store

A woman was arrested last week on suspicion of squeezing bread at a Lawson convenience store in Fokuka County. The store owner noticed that a black sesame and cheese bread was part of the four packs and was damaged after touching it. Although the package is not torn, the shape of the bread does not return to its original shape and is therefore unsold. The woman was asked to pay. When she refused, the manager followed her for about 1 km and then arrested her. Police were called and she was arrested on the spot.

“I just pressed it gently with my hands to check the firmness of the bread.” However, police believed things were different, believing her actions constituted a destruction of property. The manager also claimed that he had met the woman, believed to be unemployed, and squeezed the bun in the past. On this special occasion, she allegedly picked up a bag of black sesame and cheese bread for 181 yen and squeezed one of them with her right thumb.

Tried armed robbery at Lawson Store in Aichi

Of course, this is not the main crime. In fact, this isn’t even the biggest crime committed by Lawson convenience stores last week. On February 9, a 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of an armed robbery near Kamezaki Station in Handa, Aichi County. The suspect allegedly threatened the store clerk and asked him to hand over the money while pointing a chisel-like object to his face. When the shop workers did not comply, he left the shop. Fortunately, the clerk was not injured. The suspect partially denied the allegations against him and told police: “I didn’t do that because I want the money.”
