What Does ‘Winning’ Mean to You?

I have failed over and over in my life. That is why I succeed.
Winning can mean different things to different people. For recovering addicts, part of winning is staying sober. But usually there’s more to it than that. Addicts in recovery also want to live better, happier lives. That might look different for you than for your friends in recovery, and that’s perfectly OK. But please don’t define winning as sitting on the couch eating bonbons. Living an easy life is not winning. It’s not even trying. It’s sitting life out and sinking into a very deep rut. Wait and want. Want and wait. It’s boring. Finding a challenge, attacking it, and overcoming it is the way to think about winning. It is also the key to living a better, happier life.
Task for Today
Overcome a challenge you’ve been avoiding. When you’re done, pay attention to the sense of accomplishment this gives you.
