It’s summertime and while some people are waterskiing on the lakes or jumping through sprinklers in the yard, others are enjoying a different type of water sport… that’s right, I’m talking about pissplay.
From golden showers to intentionally wetting the bed, piss play can be a blast, pun intended.
What is pissplay, you ask? Its real name is related to urolagnia which is a “tendency to derive sexual pleasure from the sight or thought of urinating,” but it really just means what you think: enjoying and/or deriving sexual pleasure from anything to do with urine.
For some it’s the hot wetness, for others it may be associated with power dynamics and BDSM, but how you play is your business, as long as you and your partner(s) are consenting adults.
At first, this may seem gross or remind you of jokes about Donald Trump loving golden showers, but I urge you to keep an open mind and remember that kink-shaming is never cool.
Additionally, the affinity for water sports is much more widespread than one might think. According to a survey by the University of Montreal, 3.5% of women reported fantasizing about urinating on (or being urinated on) by their partner, and the numbers for men were even higher.
WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE IT?
It’s always difficult to know exactly what draws someone to certain kinks and fetishes, but when it comes to water sports, certain themes come up time and time again.
Taboo:
First of all, like many other fetishes, it is taboo. When we are little, everyone around us teaches us that the bathroom is private. Our society also views peeing in general as unsanitary. Repositioning these ideas and experimenting with introducing “private” and “taboo” practices into the bedroom can evoke feelings of excitement and naughtiness in many.
Voyeuristic component:
Additionally, many of us enjoy watching or being watched in bed, and this is even more intense when we watch or are watched while peeing.
Power play:
It can also be an ultimate power act of performing a golden shower on your submissive partner. Many even enjoy going as far as drinking or gargling their partner’s urine. Water sports are a very sensory-driven experience. By the end of your pool party, all your senses will be thanking you.
We also know that for some women, the sensation of urinating (or holding urine) can be a direct source of erotic pleasure. When our bladder presses on our internal organs such as the clitoris and urethral sponge, it can create tension that, when this tension is released during urination, can result in what some call a ““peegasm”.
So whether you’re getting horny alone in the bathroom or at a fetish pee party with your golden friends, know that you’re not alone.
IS PISSPLAY SAFE?
The answer is YES IF…
The “if” comes into play any time you’re considering exchanging/contacting/or ingesting someone’s bodily fluids, so ding ding ding it matters here with watersports. It’s important to always check in with your partner(s) about their sexual health status before opening the floodgates.
If everyone is clean and no one has open sores, then the answer becomes an absolute YES, pee is safe.
Despite what you may think, urine is 95% sterile, which means that if you’re willing to experiment, according to the medical community, you can do so. We don’t recommend drinking a lot of urine, but it’s okay if you want to swallow a little.
WHERE TO START?
As with any sexual act, consent is the first and most crucial step. Consider talking to your partner about their interest in water sports and gauge their reaction. If they’re also up for it, you’re ready to go.
Porn is always a good way to start. You can watch a pee video and see if it turns you both on. Or maybe take a shower together and let some cum out while they watch or vice versa. Plus, it will save you the cleanup.
Pace is key, start slowly and keep checking in with each other. Communication is so sexy.
SAFETY/CLEANING TIPS:
Drink plenty of water before you start your splashy party. It’s recommended to do this at least an hour before if you’re going to urinate so that you’re fully hydrated, your urine is diluted, and your bladder is full enough. It sounds like prep for a doctor’s appointment, but I promise it’s way more fun in the end.
Think about where you want to get wet and let off steam. As mentioned above, showers and baths are a great way to introduce water sports and avoid any mess. But if you want to bring this into the bedroom, try laying down a towel or even investing in a protective sheet or blanket, like the Liberator throw. Either way, you decide that cleanup is essential, so you don’t have to be left in a mess after spending time together.
Finally, safe words are great. It’s easy for anyone to change their mind at any time, especially during sex. We’re all human. So finding a word or a few different words that help you and your partner navigate the waters can make everything go a lot smoother 😉
