Velcro Binding – Review of 20 Good or Bad Products
2.7K
I like Velcro bondage products because they are great for beginners, are strong and easy to undo, and are much cheaper than leather or other materials.
I looked at some of the stuff on the market and gave my opinion based on my experience with some of these products, my experience as a sex blogger, and just general common sense.
Simple wrist cuffs
I know a lot of kink kits come with plush cuffs, but I think Velcro cuffs are more comfortable and safer for beginners. Even if you’re not a beginner, Velcro cuffs are a good choice if you don’t feel like complicated bondage requires something that’s easy to clean.
what do I like – Heavy duty neoprene
Keep in mind that plush doesn’t equal comfortable – the padding is what counts as comfortable. The neoprene layer seems pretty thick. The buttons and stitching look good, too. I also looked at the reviews and ratings – enough people have bought them and praised them for me to feel confident recommending them.
What I don’t like – GSPOT Link

I was very upset with these products for two reasons. First, they were way overpriced (previous models were about the same price, but much cheaper). Second, the plastic buckles are not as sturdy as the metal buckles. And once they break, they are a pain to replace.
What are the cheap alternatives – Psychedelic cuffs

Nothing fancy, just something simple and affordable if you’re just starting out and don’t know if you’ll like these types of restraints. Also makes a great fun gift.
The cuff material may be thin, but at least they’re lined with a softer trim around the edges.
Bed base kit
I like them because they are easy to clean, can be tucked under the bed when not in use, and are great for traveling. I’ve had one set for a few years now and it has held up very well.
My biggest advice is to double check the size of the product vs the size of your bed. Mine is just the right size to expand but leaves very little extra wiggle room (in terms of adjustability). The larger/longer the straps, the better.

what do I like – MEEYAR Kit
This is about as basic as you can get, but that’s okay. The cuffs are thick and furry, which makes them super comfortable (especially for long play sessions). It’s perfect for beginners, and it’s reasonably priced if you just want to add a little something extra to your kink collection.
It can accommodate a king-size bed without the need for an additional top mattress or foam lining.
What I don’t like – bed linings
This might be another basic item, but I really dislike it for one simple reason – the branding all over the cuffs is super tacky.

If you want to put your name on something, that’s fine. Just don’t make it too “obvious”. It also makes it look more like something you’d wear while working out. I guess the deciding factor (if you’re on a budget) is that this is the cheapest one out there.
What is the difference – Bed restraints

This one is cool because the extra strap in the middle (and the extra loop) allows for more posing and fun, but considering all those changes, I don’t think the $35 price tag is too bad.
Ankle and wrist suits
I think it’s pretty obvious why these are fun *insert evil laugh here*. I’d just say, pay attention to whether you buy one with a solid bar (which turns into more of a brace) or one with a flexible bar (allows for more movement). Both are fine, just double check before you click “buy”.
What looks good – Easy access system

I’m a little concerned about not having more product pictures, but the description tells me the middle section is rigid (which means less movement – which could be interesting). Not sure about the comfort of the wrist and ankle straps (if they’re rough around the edges, etc.). Still, I think it’s worth a try.
What I don’t like – Happy and Healthy Package

The edges of the restraints seem rough or very “sharp” – one buyer even complained of friction burns.
The seams connecting the cuffs to the main straps also look flimsy. I wouldn’t go for this one given the many options out there.
Things that bother me – Finov Set

I also don’t know if the main strap is stiff. All in all, it’s a very bad sales strategy and the free plastic bag can’t make up for it.
Door limiter
I have a suit that includes legs, but it’s just so horrible, and I can’t trust my cheap doorway to withstand any wild sex. The good news is, there’s a compromise – door-clip wrist restraints! You can keep your feet firmly pinned to the ground while still feeling freaky.
what do I like – Extreme Limit Set

Foam lined wrist strap and (seemingly) sufficiently strong connections and stitching (multiple lines instead of a single one). Not much else to say other than it looks like a good purchase.
What I don’t like – BEKINKY set

Ugh. These look flimsy and cheap. I’d try them once (or less) or they’ll break or tear. Even with a tight stitch, the wrist part looks like it’ll cause serious discomfort (or worse). Don’t bother.
What might be a lemon – FRISKY SET

Always read customer reviews before buying anything. This one seemed fine, but then a few people wrote that the sewing was poor quality and it broke easily. I’d err on the side of caution with something that could make you fall.
double limit
These are similar in idea to cuffs and ankle restraints and spreaders – only the straps tie two body parts together instead of tying them to an additional part. There is no better or worse choice among these. It’s more about your preference for what positions or restrictions these products put you/your partner in.
notes: If you have thick thighs, Make sure the legs are big enough (If no details are given, check the dimensions or ask the seller).
what do I like – Handcuffs

Connects the wrists to the thighs – this gives the submissive/partner better control over balance (rather than bending over the pole). I think they are lined but the pictures are hard to tell and the description doesn’t tell us much. Good reviews though.
What I don’t like – KEMUSE cuffs

This is one of those cases where cheaper isn’t necessarily better.
What looks interesting – Double Bind

Just be careful with the seams at the back of the knees. Also, if they are not something you can use while standing (unless you are strong and attentive enough to catch them if your partner falls).
Neck to wrist restraint
They can be incredibly hot, but because we’re dealing with the neck, they can also be dangerous if not well designed or if the bedroom play is too rough.
What makes me conflicted is – Fetish Bondage

The back strap also doesn’t seem to be long enough (if you have a larger body type). For such a nice configuration for only $10, I’m not surprised.
What I don’t like – Wrist restraints

It seems like a cool idea but I don’t feel safe doing it. I mean, you could move it to the front but I hate the way they advertise it.
What is deception? – Collar suit

It’s two separate pieces, not one – but with the extra hook set you can make it into a single restraint (much safer than other neck/wrist products as the pressure isn’t on the front of the neck).
If not, you’ll still have some velcro tie-downs.
Wild Card
These don’t really fit into any category, but I wanted to include them anyway…
Restraint sling

I’ve seen this neck brace all over the internet and it looks interesting, but I’m conflicted about the neck brace portion. One picture makes it look very fluffy, while another makes it look like a flat piece of nylon. I wouldn’t use it as advertised, but would wear it on my back (as shown in another product picture).
Fetish Horse harness

First, let’s talk about the fact that they reviewed a mannequin. Haha. But I particularly like this one because the pressure is applied where the body can take it (shoulders and thighs). And there are nice (I don’t know what to call them) stirrups? It supports the thighs without pressing into the flesh.
