Pornhub is pulling back the curtain on America’s X-rated viewing habits by sharing a breakdown of the kink in every state.

The adult entertainment site released the dirty data on its 2024 review page, revealing the top related searches in each state—that is, the terms that were most commonly searched for compared to other states.

In New York, “Türkiye” is the most popular word, suggesting that horny residents are looking for X-rated videos produced in the country.

Pornhub says the Empire State has the largest population of Turkish residents in the United States, which means many residents are likely both horny and homesick when looking for explicit content.

Meanwhile, in neighboring New Jersey, another country seems to be attracting special interest.

“Iran” is the most popular related search term there, while “Cuba” is the most common search term in Florida.

There were some surprising results in other states, with “naked women” being the most popular in Pennsylvania and “chubby milfs” being the most popular in Tennessee.

Out west, where “lesbian sex” became the most popular related search term in North Dakota, things get a little trickier.

“Footjob” is the No. 1 word among kinksters in Colorado, while “hairy” is a fetish in Oregon.

Elsewhere, “bum” — defined as “the sound of air being released from the vagina, usually during or after sex” — is the most commonly used relative term in Connecticut, proving that horny locals enjoy more than just porn film, and also like the visual effects of porn.

In addition to looking specifically at Americans’ sexual habits, Pornhub also explored trends around the world by listing the most popular categories in each country.

“Ebony” was the top-rated category in the U.S., while “lesbian” topped the list in Canada and Australia.

Pornhub also shared a series of other insights with The Washington Post earlier this month, showing searches for “demure” and “traditional wife” surge in 2024.

Meanwhile, searches for “modest” increased by 77%, while searches for the term “modest MILF” increased by 45%.

Dr. Laurie Betito, director of Pornhub’s Center for Sexual Health, said of the trend: “People seem to be craving simpler times — looking for things that are less complicated and maybe looking for more meaningful experiences.”
