The most popular anime songs in karaoke in 2024

It’s no secret that some of the best reasons to go to karaoke in Japan are to shamelessly belt out the opening soundtrack. Naruto or one piece. Not only are Japanese karaoke places some of the most comfortable, but they use sound systems that are constantly updated with the latest music, anime and non-anime.

Karaoke service and sound library Joysound has just released Summer Anime Songs: hit songs based on anime shows released in Japan in July 2024.

Top 3 Karaoke Anime Songs of 2024

Idols and reincarnation anime, Son of Shinobu Last year, Yoasobi’s hit single “Idol” took the world by storm. This year, the anime returns with its second season. The opening song “Fatale” became the most popular anime song this summer.

Not surprising to those familiar with the anime scene, my hero academiaThe opening song of Season 7, “Curtain Call” by Yuuri, came in second place.

However, number three left us both amused and confused. By far the most confusing entry of the season (in a good way) is the opening of the Shikairo anime, “Shikairo Days,” Deer Son Nokonoko Koshitantan. Compared to the other songs on the list, this is the only song sung by voice actress Han Hye in character.

Comparing the most popular anime tracks and most streamed series

Interestingly, the list also compares the top anime tracks with the most streamed anime by viewership ranking. Both Son of Shinobu and my hero academia Remaining in the top two spots on both lists.

Yoasobi ranked fifth with the song “Undead,” which was used as the theme song for the anime Rest Season and Monster Season Part of the Monogatari series. However, the animation itself cannot even enter the top 20 in ratings.

In an interview with Hisanori Yoshida and Yui, two DJs who host the anime introduction program “Tsuzukimi,” they stated that the popularity of choreography and dance on social media is the main driving force in whether anime songs become famous.

“Songs that are familiar to you on video sites will make you want to sing them at karaoke. I think TikTok has had a big influence on recent hits,” Yui shared.
