The lives of passengers you encounter by chance have changed forever

Someone noticed a man on the plane.

It wasn’t love on the first flight, but somewhere between the aisle and the window seat, some turmoil turned into a lot of sparks.

When Los Angeles native Megan Meza notices a “cute” guy approaching her journey on a flight to London in April 2022, she immediately starts to fantasize about the romance of the plane between herself and the handsome stranger.

Little did she know that the person would be Brit Freddie Gershinson, who would eventually become her husband.

“I immediately thought he was cute. I saw him stopping near our row and I thought, ‘He has no way to sit next to me’.” “So, when he put his backpack in his seat, I couldn’t believe it. Letting a cute guy sit in a party fantasy next to you is like every girl’s dream.

“It happened suddenly here. I actually texted my mom (sitting in another row and sitting in another row) with my sister and friends, like “My row of cute guys.” SOS. “”

Initially, Meza was too nervous to chat with the six-foot-two strangers, but when he put down the airpods and couldn’t find them, she took a look at the line behind with suggestions.

Although she “had no other expectations”, the two spoke for six hours in the flight, speaking to the woman sitting between the middle seats.

“At this point, I thought, well, it’s fun and frivolous. It’s like he had a chance to go back to his music, but we’re talking all the time.” “I [couldn’t believe I was] “Focus on connecting with a complete stranger,” she said, adding that when the cabin lights dim at night, they stopped chatting.

But Gershinson was determined to continue the conversation. He asked over the phone, “Do you have a boyfriend?” in the comment app.

Meiza quickly answered “No” with a smile.

After the plane landed, the two exchanged phone numbers, and the British said he “was back to London with a smile on her face.”

“I was like- I’ve never met someone so confident and pre-emotional, and it’s awful, and I probably wouldn’t see him again,” Mezza said. “We continued to text after the flight. About three days after we met, he called me and said he hadn’t had such a connection before and wanted to see if I would be with him in London with him.” [after my family vacation]. ”

Meza returned to the U.S. due to the inability to adjust the return date, but told Gershinson that she would visit him if they were still texting in the summer.

Three months later, after they called each other on the phone “every day”, she returned to London.

“Day 3 [of the trip]He took me to meet his parents for tea, then gave me an early dinner, and then we met his friends for a drink. “That night, I thought, I couldn’t go home, that was the end. Everything was so natural – his family, his friends, our connection.

“He was so intentional, kind and confident in himself. So we did.”

Three years after they met, the happy couple was about to get married. Meza urges singles to stay open because you never know when you will be happy.

“I saw someone I thought was lovely and I used this as an opportunity to have this ‘yes’ moment on the plane and I would never see him again. What am I going to lose?” she told people.

“Dating is a resistance, with Freddie, I never felt like we were playing games. If I knew this was waiting for me, I wouldn’t waste another day crying for boys who weren’t worthy of tears.” “So don’t lose hope. The right person is there, it would have terrible settled and never found this again.”
