My friend Dan is the demon of karaoke (I am me), but our preferred union no longer does karaoke nights, so on his birthday we tried one at Owl’s Club. The atmosphere is very “the basement of the church”, but to some extent a little quaint? There seems to be a great regular community back week after week – lots of dance, laughter and general joy!

My compliments on this outfit are disproportionate because of its simplicity… It’s pretty sure Doc Martens will make me look cooler than I do!

I wore this and could do musical improvisation with my troupe. I’m still adapting to my sudden tough pivot, which is mainly for dressing up when I rejoined the Improvisation Community last year, partly for practical reasons, partly just because I feel like a different person. This shirt and pants are both recent acquisitions as I gradually updated my wardrobe to fit the current vibe. On the other hand, loud Nike and heart-shaped glasses are older items that somehow fit my on-stage aesthetic. At this point, they are like my psychological armor! (That night, I sang grapefruit Cunnilingus and the mortality rate in the fall, you want to know.)

Some of my friends performed in Socap improvisation and it was really hot, so I put on this little half-hanging outfit to see them. They were great, and then we went out for a late night dinner at Edmund Burke and went to a friend’s house and did some stupid late night drunk music riffs on the background track YouTube originated. Improvisation is a strange and wonderful person.

What I wear:
• Black heart-shaped modal – Mudes (some people would say it’s not something you should wear in the house…they are wrong about it)
• Rainbow Cardigans – Modcloth from many years ago (not shopping from them these days – the last thing I heard is that they are paying without shipping!)

Tell you that my androgynous people have been wearing more clothes lately…this is probably the closest thing I have to wear (and will) in a suit! I enjoyed this dinner at my beloved local bar, The Queen & Beaver, during which I read from David Rees’ cheating book How to sharpen a pencil.

What I haven’t mentioned in this post so far is that I’m going to move to New York for most of June. Needless to say, packing your life to another country is an absolutely exhausting effort! But there are some bright spots here…like when I dragged a bunch of old clothes to my local thrift store to donate and ran into these jeans.

As I mentioned in my previous clothing post, my body has changed recently due to some of the medications I used, so a lot of my clothes are not suitable for me at the moment. For example, I don’t have any fitting jeans at the moment, but I wear jeans to my improvisation almost every week, so I need a really suitable one! Although the Surly Goth transport thrift store counter inexplicably told me that there weren’t any suitable rooms, I felt like these were mine, so I bought them, took them home, tried them, and……know that I’ve never preferred a pair of jeans in my life. Then, when the weather allows, I continue to wear them obsessively!

What I wear:
•Gray Blue Vest – Some generic chains; to be honest, maybe more of a bra!
•Blue skinny jeans – Frugal; they are the “Lola High Rise Skinny” style of the denim forum (By the way Canadian brand!).

This is not my most creative ensemble, but it’s something I’m having a drink at Civil Liberties (the best cocktail bar ever) and a few weirdos I’ve known from the internet have recently moved to Toronto! Chatting with excellent Bevs is always good.

This is something I wear to host my upcoming party! I’m really nervous, not a party hostess (especially Not since 2020! ), but I had a fun time with my lively friends. This is a group of about 20 of us – about half from my current improvisational troupe and the other half from other departments/times in my life, which is a little dissatisfied. But I think that’s the purpose of the party, is it?

Since my job is weird, I have accumulated dozens of new sex toys that I don’t have a specific purpose, plus 48 (!!) tenga eggs, so I put all of them at the party and invite my guests to take everything they like. I am happy to announce that there is nothing by the end of the night. Then we went to the comedy bar karaoke for the party and went to the pizza back– After the party, then move to the pizza pizza parking lot back– After the party. I didn’t get home until 4am, which is pretty sure this hasn’t happened since the vibrant young thing around 2012…! (Thanks, low-dose naltrexone!)

Another impromptu costume! As far as the risk of wardrobe failures is concerned, improvisation on shorts and crop tops is not ideal, but Good Lord It was so hot the day so I layered it properly with my leggings and bra and hopefully the best! I was told that this expression reminded him of Bart Simpson, which felt like a compliment.

I’m particularly happy with the “Calm” of the improvisational creation of this movie ignorance – Also, hoedown poem about Halloween dressed in a boring hoedown!

A few of my friends performed in a dance-themed impromptu show at the Comedy Bar, paired with costumes and incredible makeup + hairstyle. That’s a fool! By this point, I had packed most of my gown for the upcoming move, and this nervous little number was one of the only dresses that were still hanging in the closet, so I threw it down to drink the IPA while laughing at my friend’s scene.

Another day trip! My schedule was beautiful: In the morning, I took the subway to participate in a 4-hour musical riff in town, taught by the lovely Devon Hyland, an insightful and lively teacher. We learned a lot about how to come up with a comedy premise in existing songs, which is easier and harder than it sounds…those 4 hours really flew over!

After that, I went to gay with a friend because it was a proud parade day! We walk around, watch, chat and absorb the sun. Perfect day, TBH! Then later I had to change my troupe’s clothes The final Improvisational display (see below) – Boooo!

After the Pride Parade, I ran for election only Enough time to shower and change our last show! Basically the same as the outfit above, except that a few key items were swapped… So, in fact, I won’t even go into detail about the outfit, just say that the pink vest is another color of the same red I’m wearing on it, and the heart-shaped leggings might also be a gift from the 2013 My Mama! Oh yes, the bag I always carry around on show night is the orange leather coach poppy I found on eBay.

My initial plan was to move on July 1, but then some friends pointed out to me: “You are leaving Canada exist Canada Day? ! “It happened to me suddenly: I should have moved on July 2, so I can spend it in the countryside with my mom and brothers, just like we do every year, it’s a very special night and I’m so glad I stayed for it.

This is the second day, and this is my actual moving day. Being involved, I feel more stressed and anxious about anything than I do loooon Time…but I’m lucky that there are a lot of amazing people helping me, so it’s doing more smoothly than expected. When I wrote this one week later, I haven’t actually received my stuff from moving, so we have to wait and see how That Go…but overall, I’m really glad it’s done and now I’m glad I’m living in Brooklyn with my wife now. It definitely feels much better than when I took these moving photos, and the stress and fear (not to mention sweat) can be noticeable in my face!
