Have you ever tasted fruit so juicy, so ripe, so delicious, that you were grateful that it existed, grateful that you were alive to taste it?
Yes, that’s how the Solina Mega L dildo makes me feel about my penis. Let’s talk about it.
Dual-density silicone, ultra-realistic, perfect size
Dual-density silicone has been the gold standard for dildo realism for at least as long as I’ve been in the industry. For those unfamiliar, “dual-density” refers to the two different hardnesses of silicone used in these toys: Their core is made of a firm silicone, while the outer layer is made of a softer silicone. As a result, dual-density silicone dildos feel more like a real human penis than single-density dildos do—and you get the punch of firmer silicone wrapped in some cushy cushioning for all-around satisfaction.
Today, many companies make dual-density silicone toys, such as Tantus, Vixen Creations, and Uberrime. Solina is a relative newcomer to the field, but they’ve done a great job, as you’ll see below.
About the sizing: I asked for the Large, but actually (contrary to its name) got the smallest Solina. The insertable length is 6.75 inches, and the maximum diameter is 1.5 inches. Personally, this size is perfect for regular day use, as I don’t need to warm up to put it on, but it feels full enough to even touch my A-spot (more on that below). The XL measures 7.6 inches by 1.8 inches, while the XXL measures 8.25 inches by 2 inches.
My review of Solina Mega L
- The title goes like this: This is one of the most realistic, lifelike dildos I’ve ever tried. It has ridges, veins, and a subtly beautiful gradient color that reminds me of some of my favorite dicks, and it’s simply fantastical. Its realism makes it perfect for matching all kinds of fantasies (in fact, just this morning I couldn’t help masturbating to the thought of this dildo being the dick of an advanced humanoid sex robot!), and it could also be a gender-affirming option for some trans men to wear.
- Unlike other dual-density toys I’ve tried, the silicone on this one is smooth and matte with little to no drag. If lubricated properly (with a water-based lube), it slides in and out comfortably, and I found I could even jump over I use this dildo for lubrication if I’m already wet enough, which is rare with silicone.
- One of the great things about the Solina Mega L is that it’s only $40! This ultra-realistic, body-safe, dual-density silicone dildo! If you’re not familiar with typical sex toy pricing, trust me: those exclamation points are justified. I usually expect a dildo of this quality to cost $80 to $130, so seeing it for $40 makes me happy because I want anyone to be able to buy a good sex toy. The XL and XXL are pricier at $60 and $70, respectively, but that’s still less than I’d expect for a toy of this quality.
- This toy has a flared base that makes it safe for anal use – awesome! It’s also compatible with strap-on dildos and (some) sex machines, and has a suction cup so you can attach it to a hard, flat surface like the floor or the wall of a shower so you can go hands-free. I love how versatile this dildo is.
- If you like oral dildos, this is a great one – 10 out of 10, no complaints. The smoothness and softness of the silicone makes it very comfortable during oral sex, and the size doesn’t hurt my jaw. Now that I think about it, maybe I should practice my deep throat skills with this thing…
My business No Like Solina Mega L
- My main difficulty with this toy is that, like some guys I’ve dated, it’s a little too straight for me (*tapping*). As mentioned above, it does reach and stroke my G-spot and A-spot, but it would be much more effective if it had a slight curve. As it stands, I have to manually tilt it quite a bit to hit those spots (by tilting the base of the toy down towards my hips), which is sometimes difficult for my hands/arms to maintain.
- So far, there don’t appear to be any skin tones available other than the light skin tones seen here. I hope this changes in the future, especially since realistic dildos can create a sense of sexual identity for many people when it comes to wearable dildos or similar, in which case it’s (obviously) a better option if your dildo matches the rest of your body.
Final Thoughts
I wish Solina Mega L had been around when I first started giving sex advice, because people always When I asked for recommendations for affordable dildos, it was rare to find a decently designed, body-safe dildo for under $50. But now there are a lot more affordable options, like Solina toys, and I’m excited about that.
For just $40, you get a super-realistic dildo that looks amazing and works great for everything from solo sex to bondage to hands-free showers. I think that’s a pretty solid deal!
