Self-Bondage 101 – Simple Tips for Having Fun and Staying Safe
9.9K
Self-bondage simply means that you put yourself in a restraint system of your choice, and the release is up to you or another person. But since you are alone for most/all of the activity, this type of play is often classified as dangerous (because there is no one to help you if an emergency arises).
This Getting Started Guide will cover Methods of self-restraint, dangers of such games, safety steps, and other useful tips That way you can enjoy it to the fullest.
Methods of self-discipline
I won’t go into detail about specific self-bondage techniques – just discuss existing techniques and their pros and cons.
rope – Rope bondage enthusiasts know the wonderful feeling of ropes rubbing against the skin. There are many body harnesses, leg straps and other equipment that can be used to practice on your own. However, the risk comes from not understanding what you are doing and the (serious) injuries that can result from it.
Chain – Some people like their weight, feel and sound. They are a bit hardcore, but very fun. The problem of escape also increases, as they are more difficult to get through than ropes.
plastic wrap – Yes, the same stuff they use to wrap leftovers. You don’t wrap your body with steak, you wrap your body with it. It’s not breathable, so you’ll sweat (risk of dehydration). There’s also a suffocation risk if you do anything around your face. And, Don’t be deceived by its fragile nature. Once you have accumulated a few layers, it is difficult to get rid of them.
Tape – Mostly duct tape or electrical tape. Not only does it bind the body, it also pulls on the skin, which increases the pain. It’s cheap, but hard to get away with.
Handcuffs – There are many options, from cheap to expensive. Some people like the feel of metal against their bodies, but keep in mind that these things may stick too tightly and may restrict blood circulation.
Velcro handcuffs with clip connections are great for beginners and are easy to remove.
leather – It’s beautiful and comes in a variety of designs to suit all parts of the body. The downside is that it’s pretty expensive (especially if you want a better style).
emulsion – This isn’t really a self-restraint tool (it’s thin and can tear easily), but the tights give the illusion of restricted movement. Some people may also have significant allergy issues.
eraser – Similar concept to latex, but with fewer allergy issues. It’s also more durable, but much more expensive.
Straight jacket – These aren’t usually used for self-bondage (since the bondage is behind your back), but I included them anyway because it’s a viable option if you have your hands in front of you.
Bags and Sacks – They can be roomy with lots of room to move around in, or so tight that you look like a mummy. You can even bring a weighted blanket If you’re a beginner and want to start in the shallow end of the pool – there’s nothing wrong with that!
The dangers of self-restraint

Blood cycle – If anything is too tight, it cuts off blood flow and bad things happen.
asphyxia – Autoerotic asphyxiation may appeal to some people, but masturbation alone can sometimes lead to death.
Tissue and nerve damage – Especially with something like a rope, if not handled correctly/unsafely, you can end up with (at least) severe bruises.
Dehydration – Anything that makes you sweat a lot and keeps you tied up for too long can be harmful.
Panic attacks – Some people may laugh at this, but don’t. Sudden panic can cause us to behave in ways that could harm ourselves or make rash choices that could cause harm.
How to Make Self-Bondage Safer

First – Planning is your best friend! This includes doing research (and when I say research, I mean extensive and exhaustive research) on the method you want to try.
Next, practice your favorite form Standing for a short timeWhen you feel comfortable, slowly increase the time and (if you wish) work up to your waist and torso (with your arms still free).
Planning every aspect of the meeting – from how long you’ll have to run away and how you’ll go about it, to all the things that could go wrong (even your parents coming across the country for a surprise visit, or a raccoon picking your door lock and raiding your fridge).
example – If you prefer to do things in the dark, how do you get light when you really need it? What if the light doesn’t work? And so on. Even if the solution is simple, you should think about it. That way, if something happens, you will stay calm and composed instead of scrambling to find a solution.
Other matters include Gather all the necessary materials in advance – Safety scissors, water, bolt cutters, timer, cell phone, etc. Another good idea is to have a trusted friend call you at a certain time (when your session is over) to make sure you are okay. If you don’t answer the phone, you can make a plan or signal in case they need to come over to help you in an emergency.
Know Your Lock

Timer – A box or lock box with a countdown timer (very useful) – even better if it’s plastic so you can smash it if necessary.
padlock – Make sure you have a million keys (including handcuffs)
combination – Learn your password combination and write it down somewhere nearby.
Electromagnet – These are a bit complicated in practice and not suitable for beginners.
Self-restraint emergency escape method

Even if your hands are free, you need to know how to get out quickly if necessary. You don’t want to be one of those “self-bondage gone wrong” stories.
Emergency key – Short distance and convenient transportation.
Scissors – The medical scissors you see in hospitals because they cut well and the tips won’t stab you.
Bolt cutters – Required if using chains.
Paint Key – Some people keep spare keys in a paint can so that when you take it out it makes a mess – so if you really need it you don’t mind making a mess. You can also use honey for a milder flavoring.
ice – Place the key in ice. You can also do a “timed release” – test how long it takes beforehand! You can place it in a bowl, a sock, a bottle, etc.
one person – As mentioned before, someone knows what you are doing and will get there quickly.
How to Get Extra Pleasure in Self-Bondage
If you want to add another delicious layer to your stillness, you can add an extra sensory element.
- The blindfold is easy to remove – so you can focus on the feeling of being restrained
- Watch your favorite porn
- Let others look at you – yes, this still counts as self-restraint
- If your hands are free, you can explore yourself sensually
- Connect a hands-free, app-controlled sex toy. Choose your favorite pattern and let it drive you crazy.
- Such toys include Vibrating panties, wands (if they are strategically tied in place), vibrating butt plugs, prostate massagers, nipple clamps, glans massagers, and love eggs (single or double).
- Let others take control. If the toy has a remote control, you can hand over control Give it to someone else and let them control the power and vibrations while you’re tied up!

Other considerations

- You don’t have to bind your entire body if you don’t want to
- Back up your backups
- Don’t drink too much beforehand (otherwise you’ll need to pee)
- Start with a comfortable environment
- Avoid the neck and head
- Start with light conditions, then move to dark conditions
- Always be aware of your body and possible numbness
- Don’t drink or take drugs when you’re self-binding
- Start slow and know your limits
- Set a time limit and stick to it
- Gagging and being tied to a fixed object increase the risk
- Be careful not to drop anything and add extra damage
- Always follow SSSC and RISK practices
