Roman bronze octagonal ring found in Lincolnshire –
During the excavation of Wessex archaeology, a Roman octagonal ring that looked like a nut without a thread was found in a front gutter in Lincolnshire.
It is a HENIG IX type classification ring characterized by a circular inner hoop with a polygonal appearance. These aspects are usually simple, although some rare examples have ornaments on the outer plane, as this is with signs of the zodiac. They usually date between 200 and 400 yuan
Many rings of this type have been reported to the Portable Antiquities Project, most of which are found in southern England. In modern Germany, they find them more frequently. Six, seven and eight examples were found in gold, silver and copper alloys. This is particularly heavy.
