Review: Best Nighttime Vampire Dildos
Uberrime’s Nocturna Vampire is a gentle introduction to fantasy dildos, keeping a familiar human shape with just enough flair to make it exciting. It’s smaller than most fantasy dildos, making it a great option for those new to dildos.
Design and specifications
Uberrime is a long-established independent sex toy store with a huge range of silicone toys, from realistic and fantasy dildos to V-plugs and grinders. Their brilliant designs bridge the gap between mainstream taste and fantasy design, offering something for everyone regardless of their sex toy background, with sizes ranging from comfortably petite to huge.
The Nocturna Vampire dildo sculpted by Kat (ExcelDDesigns) is part of the Uberrime Phantasia collection, designed to introduce the fantasy dildo category. Less exotic and less intimidating than some of the wilder fantasy dildos out there, these dildos stick to more common shapes and less detail while maintaining a fantasy flair. I have already reviewed the Draconis Dragon dildo from the same range and I can easily recommend it.
The shaft of Nocturna is slender and moderately curved. It has a classic human shape, with an elongated head on top and a rounded coronal ridge. The sides feature a soft texture reminiscent of bat wings.
My Nocturna is one of Uberrime’s small size sample photos. The trick is “Change Blue” (a vibrant shimmering blue that appears to have a purple edge at certain angles and sunlight, which seems impossible for my camera to capture), but I’m not entirely sure which pigment is the second faded darker color. The semi-shiny satin finish makes the toy smooth and shiny enough to show off the color.
While some fantasy dildos labeled “small” can easily exceed the size of the average human penis (every brand has different sizes, which is why I always tell people to check the specs regardless of the size name), Uberrime’s small sizes are very approachable for most people. The small Nocturna is available in a length of 5.5 inches. The tip is 1 inch wide (3.7 inches in circumference), the coronal ridge is 1.2 inches wide (3.75 inches in circumference), and the shaft thickens from 1.1 inches below the head (3.5 inches in circumference) to a diameter of 1.35 inches above the base (4.4 inches in circumference).

On a hardness scale of 00-50, it is very soft and stretchy. While most of my 00-50 durometer toys aren’t what I’d call super flexible, the Nocturna’s thinness makes it feel softer and more curved in the hand.
Prices start at $64 for the small Nocturna. Available in two colors, the custom Nocturna costs $76. Sometimes it’s available as a ready-made toy (at a small discount), and when it’s in stock it can be found in some grab bag bags (at a sizable discount).
Nocturna was sent to me as part of my affiliate partnership with Uberrime and I had no obligation to review it. Now that I have it, and I’ve been around vampires, I thought I’d share my thoughts.
It arrives alongside the Draconis Dragon dildo which I recently reviewed.

In use (anal)
Nocturna has a smooth surface, moderate hardness, and slender size, making it very easy to insert. I’m very sensitive when using dildos anally, and I don’t do it that often, but I could handle the Nocturna with zero warm-up, which was easier than some of my other smaller dildos. (I don’t recommend not warming up at all, but sometimes I want to start right away.)
Even though I was nervous, the ride was surprisingly easy. The base isn’t big enough to hold it 100% in place, but I don’t have to stabilize it to keep it from moving around. I suspect the smoothness of the shaft supports this, as there isn’t a lot of texture inside me to grab onto.
Due to the hardness and my own sensitivity, it felt a little hard, but not uncomfortable. Considering how thin it is, I don’t think I would want to go softer as that would make it more flexible and potentially make it harder to insert; however, there are times when I prefer a softer one for anal use.
The soft curves suit my taste. Strong curves are not for me when it comes to anal sex.
The wing texture feels like waves on the sides, reaching gentle peaks that feel similar to smooth, sloping bumps. It’s strong enough that when it slides in and out, I can easily identify the exact shape in use. The ridges of the head are also noticeable, given the way the head protrudes. It’s very comfortable for me since all the textures are smooth.
While I don’t like the texture of the wings, it’s not my favorite. I think I prefer the ribbed texture.
It’s easy to ride or push. Although the base is small, it is easy to hold. I find it easy to use the Nocturna with just a dab of thick lube so the base doesn’t become too lubricious and won’t hold.

In use (vagina)
The Nocturna is much smaller than the medium sized dildos I usually prefer. Without a solid shape or solid texture to make up for the lack of girth, dildos this small tend not to satisfy me. I knew before I received it that the little Nocturna was only going to be part of my anal collection.
It was easy to insert even if I wasn’t warmed up or aroused, but I still needed lube (I recommend lube for all silicone toys). Because of its firmness, I could feel its presence even when fully warmed up, although it didn’t press well anywhere I’d like.
I didn’t notice the head at all. I did notice the texture on the sides. I need to angle it so that the texture presses against my wall (rather than just sliding in and out without pressing into any good areas), which involves a more noticeable movement than I usually do. not bad! The texture creates some nice friction. But once I warmed up, even getting interesting angles didn’t do much for me.
I suspect I would like the size, shape, and texture of a large Nocturna, but the head seems too smooth and I just can’t get what I like out of the head even if the size were more appropriate. Serenade is too young for me to enjoy in this way.

Comprehensive
The Nocturna by Uberrime offers a gentle ride that works great for me during anal sex, making it easy to warm up or do low-intensity training. It’s been carefully designed as a beginner’s dildo, with a very approachable size and shape.
The entire Phantasia line is designed for beginners or those new to fantasy toys. Personally, Serenade was a great introduction to anal sex for me. However, my taste in vaginal play has never been so bland. The large Draconis from Uberrime is a better starting point for me.
