Renee Olstead received a surprise honor when attending the Anti-Gala of Wisconsin Saturday night at Milwaukee's Turner Hall in Wisconsin's Socialist Anti-Gala:::: The Wisconsin State Assembly formally cited for her advocacy for sex worker rights and her historic high apartment pet of the year. The citation was presented by representatives Ryan Clancy, Francesca Hong, Darrin B. Madison and Christian Phelps, who acknowledged Olstead as “an active activist in the rights of sex workers in Wisconsin and California” and congratulated her on becoming the first person in Wisconsin, winning the title of loft pet that year. “I was totally surprised,” Olstead praised. “Since moving to Wisconsin, I’ve been inspired by the community leaders I’ve met and I look forward to standing with them to support the upcoming layoffs in Wisconsin.” She added: “We already have an uphill struggle, which means there are a lot of advocates in our community willing to stand with us to fight for our rights.” In addition to her entertainment work, Olstead is one of the few therapists in the country who work with sex workers for free, and through Swop la, swopchi, dectimmsexworkca, dectimmsexworkca and the American Sex Workers Alliance and through the Inturaliation Inture Tistirism timientation timition in 2024, through Swopchi, Swopchi, deStimmsexworkca and American Compitiation for Intival, engaged in mutual assistance and legislative advocacy. Sex workers who advocate incarcerated in the Midwest.
