Real talk about dating and relationships

The number one priority in any relationship is open and effective communication. It’s the glue that holds any successful long-term partnership together.

If you can’t communicate openly and honestly, it could ultimately lead to the end of your relationship as a couple. Parents have to work especially hard in this area due to their own busy schedules and managing their children’s daily routines and activities.

You need to nurture your relationship first. It’s okay to let the kids take a back seat once in a while. Without the fiery love you shared in the early days of your relationship, there wouldn’t be any little kids running around.

Many people forget this and over time relationships become a platonic environment. This is not what you signed up for. Take note of how to keep things fresh between you and your partner year-round!

10 important tips to keep your love strong:

Talk openly and share your feelings regularly

This point cannot be overstated and it includes all discussions. Share what’s going on in the lives of both of you outside the home. Get to know and take an interest in what each other does in their careers, personal hobbies, or passions. If something is bothering you, don’t resist having a conversation about it.

Involve your partner in every aspect of your life. It’s called a partnership because you’re supposed to share things. When one of you speaks, pay full attention. listen to each other and really heard What are they talking about.

Money is a big relationship stressor!

Sadly, money is one of the main reasons why divorce statistics are on the rise. Create a budget that you both stick to and respect as a couple. There is no need to spend a lot of money on children. They would rather have happy parents than have the latest gadget that will be obsolete next year.

They also don’t need to participate in a ton of expensive weekly activities. Tiring yourself out trying to get the kids to all these outings takes a lot of time and energy. At the end of each day, you have nothing left to give your partner. One or two sports or activities per year is enough. This will also keep your child from getting tired.

It’s also a good idea to plan regular family exercise sessions. It’s a great way to stay connected and have fun at the same time! This could be a family outing that includes hiking, playing tennis, executing a golf par three or putting.

      schedule Weekly date night!

You need to make time for each other regularly, especially during stressful times of the year. You should never be too busy to take care of each other. If you crumble, your family will crumble too. Hire a babysitter and go out to dinner.

If finances are an issue, choose cheap dates. Go for a romantic walk or a cup of coffee together. Or, trade childcare time with a neighbor or relative who also has children. Never forget to love each other and show your partner how you feel.

Try to make yourself and your partner look good.

A little sexy goes a long way! Be the same person you were when you first met. They fell in love with you for a reason, so always remember that and stay attractive.

It only takes a few minutes and a little personal effort. This will add mileage to your relationship. It shows you care. Spend half an hour every day before dinner talking about your day. Relax with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. Do this without any interruption.

Sex and intimacy are very important priorities in a relationship!

Sex doesn’t have to include an hour of foreplay. When the kids are out with friends or they’re watching their favorite TV show, a quick visit behind a locked door can bring you as close as a couple. Regular sex can make many other family problems seem less of a problem. Sex is very therapeutic!

Hold hands when going out to eat or walking down the street. Kiss each other hello and goodbye every day. Compliment your partner and notice the subtle changes when they make an effort to make you look sexy. Anytime you are romantic with each other it will help you overcome many other life stressors.
