Kinky play doesn’t have to be hardcore BDSM, leather, whips and bondage. It can be gentle, romantic and provocative. That’s where feather ticklers take center stage. They’re perfect for foreplay, beginners or just teasing someone.
Check out these examples…
1. Midnight Feather Twirler
This is your standard/basic tickler – a little pom pom on the end of a stick. You can find them in most BDSM starter kits and sex shops. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with these things. They’re great if you’re a beginner, or just looking to add another toy to your kink collection. Plus, they have a softness that harder feathers don’t have (which can be good).
2. Luxury boutique ostrich

I like the ones with long handles because it’s easier to move around a partner. A long feather also looks nice (and more elegant – assuming these feathers look elegant). You have to be careful where the feather joins the handle – it looks like it might break if you push too hard.
3. Duster Sex Toy

It’s easy to turn a boring scratcher into a fun or pretty one – just use different feathers (other than black or speckled brown) and a fun handle. Esty has lots of examples, whether you want to make your own or buy one. I like this one because it has a glazed earthenware handle.
4. Ostrich and peacock tickling

Ostrich feathers are one of the most common types of feathers used in ticklers, but peacock feathers are a close second — mostly because adding even one feather can change the entire look (and feel) of a tickler. You can also see that they don’t have to be super expensive.
5. Peacock Feather

I don’t like this one. Some people might like it, which is cool – but the peacock feathers and wrap around the handle look cheap to me. I guess the poor product photography (for a storefront) doesn’t help either.
6. Rose Joy Feather

I love the way the hot pink blends in with the black. It also has a wrist strap instead of a handle (which probably makes it easier to carry around – less chance of breakage). Not much else to say – just another great choice.
7. Lively Black

If you’re thinking “that looks like a feather duster,” you’re not wrong — because it is a feather duster. So, yes, you can even go to the dollar store and buy one for much cheaper.
The only difference is that in this case you get something that looks a little fancier. But if you were a little crafty or DIY, you could cover the handle with something fancier to hide the fact that it’s a cleaning product.
8. Tenderness
I struggled with this one. First, I always like to see adult products that combine or re-invent old, boring designs. To that end, combining a tickler with a dildo is a great idea in theory. However, from a practical standpoint, I see a few issues.
First, if you get it really wet or sprayed with water, I can see the feathers getting… sticky. Also, if you use lube, you might run into the same problem (especially with silicone).
Secondly, any ceramic or Polynesian sex toys need to be properly “fired and glazed” to ensure they are not porous.
I’m not saying “don’t buy this” – just think carefully about whether it’s right for you.
9. 50 Shades

It’s no surprise that something with the Fifty Shades of Grey branding is on this list. While I hate the movie and books, the toy line that came out of it is pretty good. I could do without the name being engraved on the handle, but everything else looks good. I also like the dark purple and gold color combination.
10. Love Plume

$170.00?!?! — I really hoped it was a typo — but seeing their “special offer” I doubled my bid. Is it made from endangered feathers? Is it a limited edition? Is the handle made from precious metal? Is it magic? Will it grant me three wishes? Seriously, I have no idea why the price is so high.
