Perfume singer Nishiwaki Ayaka marries fan

Ayaka Nishiwaki, A-Chan of the popular all-female techno-pop band Perfume, announced on Tuesday that she had tied the knot. The 36-year-old singer revealed her news Instagram The page said she was married to “an ordinary man.” She added: “He’s been my best friend for a long time – he knows me inside out and has been a supporter of me and Perfume.”

Nishiwaki went on to say that it has always been her dream to marry a fan. “Congratulations to my teenage self. Well done!” she wrote. The singer added that she hopes to “become a ‘superwoman’ and be able to share more laughter and energy with everyone.” She asked that everyone not be interviewed because her husband is not in the entertainment industry.

News of Nishiwaki’s marriage comes just over a month after the trio of Perfume announced they would be taking a break from performing at the end of 2025. While the length of the break was not revealed, the group promised to return in the future. The announcement comes on the 20th anniversary of the release of Perfume’s major-label debut album Linear Motor Girl.

Nishiwaki was born and raised in Hiroshima and attended the Hiroshima Actors School with Yuka Kashino (played by Kashiyama). Kawayama, original member of Perfume. Ayano Omoto (Nocchi), who later replaced Kawashima in the group, also attended the same school. The band formed in 1999, but Kawashima left before their debut.

Nishiwaki’s mother told her that a trio would work better than a duo, so she approached Omoto. Their breakthrough hit in 2007 was the single “Polyrhythm.” It’s included on the LP gameranked No. 1 on the Oricon album chart.
