Nintendo Music app offers official digital versions of game music

In the past, Nintendo didn’t release game soundtracks digitally, so fans had to buy individual CDs or find dubious versions online. For many, each game’s iconic soundtrack not only significantly enhances their gaming experience, but also brings a sense of comfort and nostalgia. With the arrival of this app, Nintendo music fans around the world will have convenient and ongoing access to these iconic instruments.

Playlists for every mood

The app offers various playlists for different characters. For example, Animal Crossing troubadour Totakeke (also known as KK Slider) has a four-hour playlist dedicated to his iconic live performances. There are also playlists curated based on mood, such as “Take a Break,” “Cheer Up,” and “Good Night.” In these playlists, listeners can find music from multiple games categorized by mood. Alternatively, users can make their own custom playlists.

Nintendo is even considering adding an optional “spoiler prevention” feature that would prevent the app from showing song titles from games the user hasn’t tried yet. Listeners can also set the length of certain longer songs, or create loops of 15, 30 or 60 minute intervals. These time setting features can be used to mark study time or listen to a calming soundtrack before bed.

Music for every generation

As of now, the application includes 22 game soundtracks From classic games and Switch games, including but not limited to: “Animal Crossing”; “New Horizons”, “Wii Channel”, “Donkey Kong”, “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe”, “Super Mario Bros”, ” The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nintendogs, and Kirby: Star Allies. Nintendo will continue to add new and nostalgic old games to the list.
