New Pokepark Kanto theme park, Pokepark Kanto, is opening

Starting from early 2026, fans will finally have a realistic place to attract them. Pokepark Kanto is the first ever permanent outdoor pokemon theme park, which will be open within Yomiuri Land in Inaji City, Tokyo.

Set in the backdrop of Tama Hills, this 26,000-square-meter attraction will come to life for Pokemon year-round.

In-house Pokepark Kanto: What we know about its open 2026 so far

If you’ve been following Pokemon from the beginning, the park’s name sounds familiar. This is a double respect – both for the original Red, blue and Green gamethese are set in the fictional Kanto region, as well as in the real life of Tokyo’s Kanto region.

So far, no actual footage of the park has been released. Instead, the official announcement video reveals the park’s beautifully made miniature dioramas and provides a fascinating preview of its layout and atmosphere.

The park will be divided into two main areas: Pokemon Forest and Shakestown.

Pokemon Forest

Pokemon Forest is about 500 meters of natural walk, crossing all kinds of terrain – think grass trails, tunnels, slopes and trails. You will be able to observe and find your favorite Pokémon mix, hiding in the bushes or roaming freely around the terrain.

Sage Town

Sedge Town acts as a social hub for the park, centering around a fountain with its original theme. The area will include a Pokemon Center, Pokemart and a Pokemon Trainer Market where guests can purchase themed merchandise. Sage Stadium will give aspiring coaches the opportunity to test their skills, while the Pokemon Greeting Parade will bring visitors of all ages close to a wide variety of Pokemons.

Development is also developing two larger attractions – rumored to include Pikachu-themed riding and carousels – although details have not been confirmed yet.

When will you visit Pokepark Kanto in 2026?
