Need advice when using a prostate massager for the first time.

I’m a gay man who enjoys sex most of the time but also enjoys the occasional butt play. I’ve never been penetrated, other than with fingers, but I’ve always wanted to try a toy. I saw people rave about prostate toys so I thought I’d give it a try but I didn’t like it at all. I tried all the vibration settings but I don’t think it ever hit my prostate or if it did, it didn’t arouse me. I feel like most of the time I was more focused on keeping it in, if you know what I mean. I’d like to try it again. But is there something I should do?
