“Hey” is probably the worst conversation starter. But with Mutual’s updated chat features, even if you can’t come up with a better starter, your conversations are guaranteed to be more exciting.

Here’s what you can expect from the latest chat:

No more excuses for boring conversations

1. reaction – Replying to messages is now the norm. Just long-press on a message and select Reply. (If someone starts with a lame pick-up line, we recommend using the emoji.) Try using them to spice up your chats and keep the conversation going.
2. reply — When you’re getting comfortable with someone new, they sometimes double-text and it can be hard to remember all the fun topics. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Now you can reply to specific messages in a chat.
3. Action Menu – In your chat list, swipe left on a conversation to reveal a new action menu. From this menu, you can perform the following actions on that conversation:
   1. Archive – You can archive recent chats. This is a great way to clear out old chats and save chats you might want to review later.
   2. Pin – If you really don’t want a conversation to get buried, you can now pin it to the top of your list.
   3. Reports – To help our community be a safe place for you to match and meet others, please let us know if there is anything we need to know about a conversation
4. delete – Don’t think a conversation is necessary to keep in your archive? Now you can delete it.
5. Voice Recording Now you can send voice messages! This powerful new tool lets you hear the other person’s voice before you meet in person. It also lets you share your feelings better than a simple text message.
6. Notes displayed in archives – You can now see old notes you received in your archived messages. You can return to these messages later if you need to for any reason.
7. Gif – Sometimes words aren’t enough, and gifs can better convey the message you want to send. Open the action button on the left side of the keyboard to search for gifs that will help keep the conversation interesting and fun!
