I finally got another toy, this time it’s the ORA 2 from LELO.
Let’s see how things develop…
First Impressions
I felt very happy when I saw this.
It’s hard to innovate in sex toy design (there’s only so much you can do around the human body). However, Ora thought outside the box and tried a new approach. That’s why I had to try it for myself.
I got the standard black one – but it also comes in pink and purple.
ORA Packaging
this is a big problem……
Why would anyone care about this box?
Firstly, any well-made toy, if the maker has good intentions, should have all the necessary (or minimal) information on the box – I’ve seen some sex products that provide barely any details.
Second, good packaging can be an indicator of product quality. Of course, this isn’t always the case (you can have a bad toy wrapped in good stuff, or a good toy wrapped in plain packaging), but it can at least help you weed out a lot of bad choices.
Lelo pays attention to packaging. Its packaging is always simple and sexy, with a hint of sophistication – so you can buy with confidence.
ORA’s glossy black box lists the graphic features, warranty, website and more.
The inner storage box is made of pressed thin cardboard, lined with foam, and covered with faux velvet. The velvet doesn’t fall off onto the toys, which is nice. There’s also a lid for the charger and satin bag.
Problem: The USB cable is not long enough!
Functions of ORA
Half of the toy is made of body-safe silicone, and the rest is made of ABS plastic. The toy claims to be waterproof, but I haven’t tested it – but I can’t see how that could be a lie.
Instead of a standard on/off switch, it has three buttons: plus, minus, and center
Plus (+) turns on and then increases the intensity again
Minus (-) turns off and reduces vibration intensity
PLUS + MINIS Just press firmly for 3 seconds to lock/unlock your toy
The middle button will cycle through the various patterns, but it will also go into SenseTouch if you press it hard for 5 seconds.
NOTE: The more pressure you apply, the more forcefully SenseTouch will make the toy operate (without pressing any buttons).
On this basis, a 1-year warranty and a 10-year quality assurance are added.

ORA Performance
First, I held the toy as the instructions said. However, it was a little awkward to hold. While there wasn’t a lot of pressure and my wrist didn’t need to be bent, I still had to hold it a different way (supporting the top with my hand).
The placement of the buttons is a bit tricky. Regardless of where it is (theirs or mine), I still have to struggle to find the button I want.
Not ergonomic at all.
The ORA is marketed as feeling similar to oral sex. But it doesn’t. It has a lot of nice sensations, but nothing like oral sex. The modes do nothing for my body (most toys don’t work for me), and the “semi-circular steady vibration” ended up being the only setting I liked.
Do you have any other questions?
First, the bump is too small.
The core barely came out.
It takes a lot of manipulation to find the sweet spot.
and…
It’s so precise that if I move it just a little bit in any other direction, I’ll be lost and have to find it again – and that doesn’t mean just moving the toy; the labia and other parts need to be pushed aside so I can find the X in the treasure map.
second…
The “circle” and “half circle” movements are not very good.
The circle partner was useless for me because the bottom half didn’t hit anything and the top half didn’t apply enough pressure. The constant half circle was equally weak.
third…
The vibration intensity is not enough. And the “semi-circle plus vibration pulse” does not match. Sad panda.
I know how sex toy motors and placement work, There simply isn’t enough content And reaches my clit to do anything except provide some light, atmospheric rumble.
SenseTouch doesn’t work for mePlus, things took so long that my wrists ended up hurting from having to apply constant pressure to get it close to how I liked it.
I will add, though, that’s just how my body reacts to it. I prefer something stronger. Maybe some people will like the feel of ORA.
Does the story end with a climax?
Yes.
It just didn’t have a mind-blowing climax. On the pleasure scale, it was probably only a 6/10 (which isn’t a bad ranking).
Final Thoughts
There was just too much to process, and the performances were lackluster, preventing me from having “a few moments of true happiness” as they advertised.
Add to that the $170 price tag and I ended up with something that would go in my toy box instead of my nightstand.
It’s an interesting idea, but it fails on many levels.
postscript
Part of me wants to seriously look for a Lelo toy that I like. I mean, their Luna Beads are awesome (but they’re not sex toys). Unless I find a unicorn, I can’t afford to spend a fortune on toys that aren’t that fun.
But there is more to it than that.
There are rumors of declining quality, anti-plus sizes, and patent fraud (see DangerousLily’s post). Not to mention Charlie Sheen is their condom spokesperson. They were at the top of their game, but not anymore.
