She found love in a desperate place.

Finding love in today’s digital dating world is not an Eastern feat, especially if you’re going through a life-changing experience.

This is what happened to a young woman diagnosed with cancer – she waved her dream man in surprise for love.

Nella Pignatelli was only 22 years old when she was diagnosed with B-cell acute leukemia.

She had to go through months of hard treatment. Almost a year later, once she was on the other end of the cancer battle, she downloaded the dating app Bumble.

“I doubt I’ll find someone who will immediately understand and be patient, which is what I needed at the time,” the 26-year-old told NEED NEWS.

Pignatelli decided to mention it in her recent dating app profile for chemotherapy. “I think it’s a screening process,” she explained.

Surprisingly, Pignatelli paired with Kelvin Hinchcliff, and his life was deeply affected by cancer.

“I lost my mother and grandmother when I was 12, so when I saw Nella’s situation on her profile, I just ignored it.”

“I know this won’t change her identity, I just want to know her,” he said.

Considering her situation, Pignatelli was surprised in a good way.

“When I talked about my treatment and dates, he was the only person I talked to and didn’t scare me or scare me, either.”

“I remember the guy I was talking to said he couldn’t handle it.”

After about a month of online meeting, the two finally met in person.

“When I met Kelvin, I was wearing a wig when I was bald, and he didn’t even know it was a wig!” Pignali said.

She added: “At the end of our date, I did tell him that it was a wig because I wanted to be honest and he didn’t seem to be upset about it.”

Chemotherapy isn’t the only obstacle for the young couple – after about two months of their relationship, Pignatelli faces another health complication.

She was diagnosed with pneumonia and spent a week in the hospital at the Teenage Cancer Trust department of UCLH, with her new Beau right next to her.

Fast forward to know that despite their overcome many health conditions, the couple still performed strongly. Live with their dogs and save for their wedding.

“In the three years we’ve been together, we’ve been through about 20 years of life, including illness, family health issues and work worries,” Hinchicliff said.

“I think that’s what my cancer story really shows both of us is that you can always find positive in a very bad situation,” Pignatelli added.
