Winning the jackpot appears to increase one’s value on the romantic market. However, a Colorado gambling influencer who won a million dollars playing slot machines in Las Vegas claims that’s not the case – because most of his female potential clients just want a “sugar daddy.”

“It’s hard to know who you can trust in any relationship,” Scott Richter, 53, of Denver told JFK News & Media about his love tribulations. “It’s like playing the romance wheel.” Gambling.

The slot machine expert doesn’t even live like a high roller, ditching his mink coat and the latest shoes for $80 Sketchers and $40 polo shirts.

“I’m not really a spendthrift; I live a very simple life,” Richter said.

However, he said that as a skilled player he did enjoy some free perks, including sumptuous lobster banquets and even tickets to the occasional Super Bowl and Formula One games.

Over the years, Richter has become adept at distinguishing potential soul mates from those who show only a superficial interest in him.

“I can tell if a person is like this or not,” he said. “If you meet someone and they just ask you to gamble or give them money to gamble and hang out, that’s obvious.

“I don’t want to date someone I know because they see me on my social media channels; that’s not where I’m looking for people.”

Richter didn’t let hordes of gambling fans stop him from finding Lady Luck.

“It would be nice to have someone to celebrate my wins with me or comfort me when I lose,” the Colorado slot expert said. “I think some people are obviously looking for money, although I’ve met other ladies who have money.”

Despite being on the road 20 days a month, Richter isn’t looking for a “long-distance” relationship or a fly-by-night fling.

“I’m busy, but if there’s people I like and care about, I’ll make time to get it done,” he said.
