A woman who was born with two vaginas has revealed the disgusting behavior she faced on dating apps.
Annie Charlotte, 26, discovered she had a twin uterus when she was 16.
The uterus develops into two ducts that usually unite to form one uterus. However, in people with this disease, the ducts do not unite and two uteruses develop. In some cases, two cervixes and two vaginal canals can also be created.
Theoretically, this means that both of her reproductive systems can become pregnant at the same time.
But Charlotte revealed there was a sad side to being public about her condition.
“I’m on a lot of dating apps now and people are like ‘you’re two jerk girls’,” she told news.com.au.
She said she gets a lot of questions and often gets blunt. The man asked her if she had “two at a time.” When she said she didn’t do that, the men quickly offered to “help her out.”
Charlotte said she was rarely asked questions about who she was.
She recalled a specific encounter with a well-known man she was dating. She said things were going well. Then, after a few drinks, he came over with his friends.
“The next minute he said he’d been thinking that he and his partner ‘wanted to be tunnel partners in different vaginas,'” Anne recalled.
Charlotte felt like he had thought about the issue and rehearsed the speech. Anne was startled. Eventually, she accepted the idea. However, the circumstances meant the man’s goal was impossible to achieve.
In another case, she asked a man to go on a date with his friend. She was stunned and asked what happened.
“He said, ‘Well, two vaginas, so I think two men would be appropriate,'” Anne said.
She couldn’t believe what was happening. She felt elements of “humanity” and “respect” were missing.
Charlotte added that no matter what job she had, she should be able to go on dates without being ticked off.
“With work, it’s easy to feel like ‘it’s just a job.’ But in my dating life, I’m so much more than my two vaginas,” she says.
She said sex was an important part of the relationship. But now she feels like people don’t want to know her. Instead, she felt like a box that needed to be checked.
“It made me feel like crap. People just saw me as a sex object,” she said.
Charlotte said it left her feeling “deflated” and she has now shut down the apps. But she is looking for a date.
She said she hoped someone would hit her up at the gym because it was “the only place she would see a man.”
She added that she didn’t realize what a “common theme” it was for two men – especially friends – to have sex with a woman at the same time.
When Charlotte was younger, she said she was reluctant to openly have two vaginas and tell others alone.
She said many people have expressed their gratitude to her. They said her honesty gave them a reference point for raising their genital concerns with friends.
This is something she won’t change no matter what.
