I had an 'orgasm' in a fitness class - it's a must-do exercise

A model was left red-faced after nearly reaching orgasm while engaging her core during a Pilates class.

Fitness model Sarah Lloyd is no stranger to intense training, having run ultramarathons and being an avid fitness enthusiast.

The 25-year-old, who goes to the gym every day and enjoys working out, was “freaking out” during a recent group training session when she noticed her oxytocin levels were rising during a specific ab workout as she struggled to resist orgasm.

Lloyd was so “terrified” by the experience that she is now afraid to try the same exercise again.

“I discovered my amazing orgasm skills by accident,” says the influencer (@saraahlloyd), who has 131,000 Instagram followers.

“I work out every day; usually I just go to the gym, but occasionally I do group classes.”

In group classes, things started to look a little different.

“We were doing leg raises, and after about 10 reps, I started feeling tingling,” she said. “I thought, ‘Surely this isn’t how it’s supposed to feel?’

“I was sweating, and the sensations were similar to those I usually experience in bed. When I noticed an orgasm building, I panicked and had to stop. I didn’t know if my heavy breathing gave me away.

“Obviously, it feels good, but it’s not suitable for building abs in the gym!”

core orgasm

Exercise-induced orgasms are known as “core orgasms” and are fairly rare, but certainly not unheard of. Dr. Debby Herbenick, a sex researcher and author of “The Coregasm Workout,” estimates that about 10 percent of people experience this condition.

“They often feel similar to orgasms from vaginal intercourse, but they tend to be duller, less intense, and more tingling,” she tells Self.

“They appear to last about the same amount of time as an orgasm during intercourse. They are produced by movements that heavily engage the core abdominal muscles.”

She says people typically don’t perform this exercise on their “third or fourth crunch,” but when their core muscles are fatigued.

According to Healthline, the most common exercises that cause these symptoms are sit-ups, leg raises, knee raises, hip thrusts, squats, and hanging leg raises. Sit-ups, weightlifting, rock climbing, pull-ups, and chin-ups may also be suitable for men.

Heritage Pilates

Lloyd, from Australia’s Gold Coast, now has to avoid certain classes to ensure she doesn’t accidentally have too much fun during her workouts.

“The worst thing would be if I took a Pilates class,” she said. “They would say to do leg lifts, but I had to say no. I couldn’t do it or I would really climax.

“No coach has asked me that question yet and I really hope they don’t.”

Lloyd confided in a friend, who was “confused” by his confession.

“I’ve never seen her so shocked,” she said. “My friends had never heard of anything like it, and I had never heard of it before I discovered the skill myself.

“We don’t know who else could do this – or maybe they’re just too scared to tell us.”

As for her new challenge – avoiding orgasms – Lloyd can “laugh it off” about what happens in class, but now schedules her workouts carefully to avoid triggering a reaction.

“I’m very structured in my training now, so I know exactly what I’m doing every session. I stick to a routine that works for me and avoid any awkward situations,” she said.

“I always do cardio, then two leg days and one arm day. Plus, I’ve really become in tune with my body after years of training hard. It’s just one of those weird things you find about your body.

“You wouldn’t expect ab exercises to bring surprises like this, but here we are. I can laugh now.”

Lloyd had run six ultramarathons in the past but was forced to stop due to a stress fracture in his back.

“I’ve always been into fitness, it’s a huge passion of mine,” she said. “Ultramarathons are very tough, mountainous and you have to be very fit to compete. A lot of them are on trails, which makes them even more difficult.”
