It was love at first flight.
After a chance encounter with a pilot in Mexico, a woman discovers love is in the air and begins a long-lasting relationship. A video of the couple’s chance first meeting is currently trending on TikTok, with more than 80 million views.
“They say what’s right for you will always come back,” said Fernanda Ramirez, who has more than 480,000 TikTok followers, according to Jam Press.
The passenger had been filming a video for her social media channel while waiting to fly to Cancun.
It was there that she met the pilot Carlos.
In the August video, the content creator can be seen posing for the camera when, suddenly, Flying Boy walks right up to her, seemingly distracted by his own device.
The two stared at each other for a second, then walked away, stealing one last glance at each other.
It seemed like any hope of a relationship—Boat Already sailed.
Then, while the influencer was on her flight, the video went viral on TikTok as internet matchmakers urged Ramirez to track down the captain.
“This can’t end with just one look,” one fan agonized on Instagram, while another implored, “If he were single I’d give it to you all.”
This seems to have worked. It’s almost like a romantic comedy when Carlos sees the video and contacts the traveler, revealing that he is the pilot in her video clip.
If that wasn’t serendipitous enough, Ramirez happened to be heading to Mexico City—the same place where her fiancé had just landed.
After the two communicated online, they agreed to date in person, which seemed to have started a “official gentry”-style love legend.
This isn’t just a dodgy romance. The social media star revealed a project the two had in place in an October TikTok video that juxtaposed footage of their first meeting with a recent video of them embracing.
“It’s unbelievable how well we work together,” Ramirez gushed.
Viewers were ecstatic as their relationship took off.
“She caught the emotion and then she flew,” one smitten fan fawned.
Another wrote: “I’m glad the algorithm brought their story back to me.”
