Husband’s shocking letter to wife goes viral, here’s what you’ll find out

A wife has admitted she felt “nervous” after receiving an unexpected letter from her husband which has now gone viral on social media.

“You can give me a million guesses about how this letter is going to end and I still won’t see it coming,” one person said of the letter, which was shared with X.

Joyy, who goes by the handle @JoyyUnSpeakable on the site, wrote the letter, written by her husband Fred, which has been viewed 32.4 million times.

“To my wife,” the envelope containing the mysterious letter read,

“Ladies…choose yourselves. After almost 11 years of marriage I realize this is all nonsense,” she wrote in the post.

Fred began his letter with a disclaimer, writing: “Dear wife, let me begin by saying that I love you deeply.”

“You mean the world to me. However, for my own sake and yours, I must be completely honest with you,” he wrote. “I have to tell my truth. I hate to do it, but it’s an opportunity that will never come back because what I have to say needs to be said.”

After reading the nerve-wracking first paragraph, many on social media thought Fred would admit to cheating — but what he shared was entirely different.

“Tonight, October 22, 2024. Marks opening night for the New York Knicks’ 24-25 season,” he explained. “I’ll watch the game tonight.”

Fred went on to say that he “won’t be a husband or a father” from 7pm until the end of the game.

“You’re going to spend a few hours alone,” he declared.

Fred said that during this time, he will not watch their show with his wife, take the dog out, or put his children to bed.

“I would sit on the couch with a drink in my hand and watch the game. That was it,” he said.

“This doesn’t mean I love you any less. It just means tonight is not about you. This is about ruining the Boston Celtics ring ceremony,” he declared.

“The rest of the season is negotiable until we get to the playoffs. Then I’ll have to ditch you for now.”
