How God Made You: A Key to Personal & Marriage Growth

Well, who am I? (Who am I? Who, who, who, who?)
I really want to know (Who am I? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me who am I? (Who am I? Who, who, who, who?)
Because I really want to know (Who am I? Who, who, who, who?) ~ With apologies to The Who

Recently I’ve been praying about some behaviours I would like to get rid of. I can be pretty judgmental, and I’d like to stop. But doing that has been a challenge. Then during communion on Sunday, I was praying about it, and God reminded me that just over a decade ago He told me that He made me to be an encourager.

And the light went on! That is my filter. If what I’m saying or doing is not encouraging someone, it’s probably not what I should be saying or doing. There will be exceptions to that, but they will be rare, and I better think through it.

It’s still going to take a lot of work, but I now have a simple metric I can use in real time. I know my thinking will lag behind my behaviour, but if I do well on behaviour, it will alter my thinking in time.

Who has God called you to be? If you have a short, simple answer to that, it will help guide you.

BTW, who has God called you to be to your wife is another question to which you need a short, simple answer.
