According to local media outlet “MalaysiaGazette”, Sarah Phoon, a 29-year-old Chinese businesswoman, ran a store in a shopping mall. Earlier this year, Malaysian police seized a total of 102 adult sex toys from her store. was arrested.
The case was handled by Interior Ministry prosecutor Mahadzir Saad and the accused was represented by lawyer Teh Yi Kai of the National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK).
Sarapan, 29, was eventually released on bail. Due to her family’s financial difficulties, she asked the court to reduce her bail amount before being released on bail. Sarah told the court that her monthly income is only about 1,800 ringgit (about 2,900 yuan) and she has to bear all the financial expenses of her parents and two younger siblings who are still in university.
