Getting help for your marriage: Early intervention is important

I want to encourage you to seek help for your marriage if you need it. And the sooner the better! Most couples who seek help from a counselor, therapist, or coach wait too long. When seeking help is viewed as a last-ditch, desperate move, problems pile up and dealing with them becomes a daunting, long-term task that seems insurmountable.

This is where the world beats us. In church, we pretend everything is fine, even when things are far from fine. Asking for help implies weakness or failure, so we just make it bigger and try to hide it from others.

Yeah, I’m going to insert Aldrich Ministries here. Aldridge Ministries provides counseling to individuals and couples. Most marital problems can be solved through counseling. Counseling is less expensive than therapy, and because it can be delivered across state lines and internationally, you have access to a great team no matter where you live.

Yes, Lori and I are members of Aldrich Ministries. Depending on your needs, you may or may not be matched with us. Some people do story work, provide guidance to men or women, and help deal with porn and other unwanted sexual urges. In addition, premarital services and help with sexual difficulties are available.

If cost is an issue, a sliding scale may be used. And the priestwe are now working with churches who want to help cover some of the costs of getting their people help. This includes some customer-approved feedback. If you would like more details please email me.
