Foreigners mocked “White Lotus” as “loser”

Foreigners mocked "White Lotus" as "loser"

They are 10 overseas, but are a stupid person on the ground.

After the third season premiere of HBO’s “White Lotus” , the word “The Loser Goes Home” enters vernacular, where the word is used to refer to the spread of “bald, white” in Thailand.

Defined as the stereotype of “older, rich, bald white man… retired to Thailand with his young wife”, the name “lbh” has caused controversy among men living overseas, and the nickname has angered some expats.

In “White Lotus”, the title of “The Loser Goes Home” was awarded to the white bald man who surged in Thailand.

An Australian named Sam, Youtuber, who runs under the channel name “Gone Adrift”, claims that the series’s single line is “a frustrating expatriates”.

In fact, Sam, who now lives in Thailand, said he felt “individually assaulted” by the remarks.

He admitted that “absolutely” was “a loser back home” – saying that he did not perform well in school, did not attend traditional college, and that his career was not financially rewarded – but insisted that the term does not apply to every expat.

He clarified that many of his friends who moved to Thailand were “very accomplished” before moving.

When asked if they were suitable for the “stereotype” bill, the person interviewed in Thailand disagreed. Instagram/yourthaibestie
Travis Leon claims that “insult” is a “generalization” about men moving overseas. tictok/@travisleon1

“I’m happy to accept the term, but I’m not happy to accept the idea that anyone who decides to leave the Western country and move to Thailand or any other country in the world will automatically become losers,” Sam said.

One audience member commented: “The proud ‘lbh’ here to enjoy life with my Thai wife.

On Tiktok, creator Travis Leon talks about “’loser goes home’ insult,’ his word “problem” is that it is “generalization.”

He argued that while he could see where the insult came from because of “bad roles,” many moved to other countries to explore new opportunities and cultures.

“Most of the time, I see this insult usually comes from people who choose the more traditional paths in their lives,” he said in past videos.

“They live at home and seem to be usually unhappy in life, so they hate people online.”

He quipped, “I want to call them ‘losers in trouble’.”

On Instagram, a content creator from Thailand approached “white whites” in a local bar in Bangkok, asking them what they think of the sentence.

One argued: “People are sacrificing the moment they are sacrificing to make everyone else look good” and claimed that people think “men are the worst things.” He added that men were “preyed.”

When asked if he felt “attractive” in Thailand, rather than returning home in the UK, the anonymous man (describing himself as short, bald and tattooed) said yes because “in England you are just classified like someone who has just been released from prison.”

“White, bald, short guy is great!” he cheered.
