Most sex and porn addicts experience extreme emotional discomfort in the early stages of recovery. Why wouldn’t we? After all, for years, sex addiction has been our primary way of coping with any discomfort, including seemingly harmless feelings like boredom. When our addiction is over, we no longer have these easy ways to numb and escape. Without them, we have to face our emotions head-on. For people like us who have been trying to “not feel” for years or even decades, this can be a very uncomfortable experience.

Today’s Task
Be aware of your emotional discomfort. Be willing to endure it while still being lucid.
