This super hot sex move might bring couples a little too close to the sun.
Horny hotties looking to intensify their sex have long touted the edge – the edge where you reach orgasm before stopping and starting again – to increase sexual arousal and enhance orgasm.
However, some medical experts warn that the technology may have longer-lasting effects on people’s sexual behavior than expected.
Dr Donald Grant, senior clinical consultant at Independent Pharmacy, claims that postponing orgasm too often can cause the body to become desensitized to the body’s natural response to stimulation and become accustomed to the habit.
“This can have a lasting impact on a man’s ability to sustain stimulation, making it more difficult to achieve or maintain an erection – a common symptom of erectile dysfunction that may require treatment,” Dr Grant told MailOnline.
Some experts also claim that edging can also cause “blue balls,” which the National Institutes of Health describes as “scrotal pain after increased sexual arousal without reaching orgasm.”
Erotic techniques can also put unnecessary stress on the muscles needed to reach the big O.
“The pelvic floor muscles can withstand a lot of pressure,” Dr. Rina Malik explains in a YouTube video. “If you feel stressed out and are trying to control your ejaculation again and again, [the muscles] May become nervous. ”
Malik says painful ejaculation, testicular pain and painful bowel movements can be symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction.
But other medical groups, like experts at WebMD and Healthline, insist there’s no scientific evidence to support any claims that edging has adverse or dangerous effects.
“In general, as with any masturbation technique or sexual activity, there are a range of risks to be aware of,” notes Dr. Grant.
He recommends not overusing the technique and combining it with normal intercourse and masturbation techniques.
If you’re in a close relationship with your partner, satisfactory communication is key to determining sex.
