Did I screw up?

I recently bought an Arouz’d Total Control Stroker and this is my first time using it. It’s nice, just a little tight, and I came in it while I was having sex. I took the silicone part out to clean it and found a layer of foam wrapped between the hard plastic cover and the silicone. I spilled my cum on some of the foam and then took it out to rinse it off. This subreddit doesn’t allow for photos and I’m not great at describing it, but when I put the silicone back into the hard plastic without the foam, it sank about an inch into the opening. What I’m asking is, did I get the foam wet and screw it up? Do I need the foam? I’ll probably return it for something else since it has a warranty but am concerned that the foam won’t seem too appealing to me.
