First, let me state that this product is not free (like some other reviews have suggested). I paid for this product myself because my other harness finally decided to go nail heaven (which sounds painful I might add). I know buying this product can be a hassle (hehe), so here are my experiences and recommendations.
product
The harness is called “Corset-style strap-on harness” (I have no problem with this, as generic names are much better than cheesy ones). Two versions – one with fabric lining, one without (and one with leather lining)I bought the one without because it seemed easier to keep clean.
- This is a faux leather harness (it says faux leather on the product page)
- Waist 43 inches/109 cm (max)
- Fits dildos up to 1.65″/4.2 cm in diameter (max)
- It has a velvety back
- The fixture is metal
- The corset straps are nylon
Package
The product came in a plain cardboard box. The label was discreet – “XR LLC” and “Leather Clothing”.
The contents looked like they had been thrown in (I bought a dildo and got free nipple suction cups). Since there was nothing breakable in there (like a glass sex toy) I wasn’t really concerned. But the box was a bit dented – hard to tell if it was from shipping or handling.
The design of the packaging itself is not bad, but the paper is thin and flimsy. This means that you can’t use the box to store the harness. Instead, I would buy a nice bag to carry it in.
My experience
It was a little fiddly to put on the first time—mostly because I had to spend time adjusting all the straps to find the best, most comfortable fit. But once I had it on, I could easily put it on and take it off by just unfastening one of the side straps. I also had to tie off the extra belly bands so they didn’t get in the way.
The dildo is easy to insert and remove through the hole and ring – I recommend using the holes because the buttons that hold the rings in place are very tight and difficult to undo (which isn’t a bad thing).
The first thing I noticed was I can move the harness so it sits lower or higher on my body (My previous harness was positioned really low) I like this because I can change its position if or when my partner needs to.
The second thing, and the most important thing to me, is Feeling safe and powerful.
I hate stretchy or lingerie strap-on dildos because they bounce and move around, and when I try to pull out the dildo lags and I can’t control the thrusting the way I want (important if you’re with someone who isn’t used to anal sex). There’s nothing wrong with “lag” or “strap-on movement”.
The cleanup was just as I expected. – Faux leather is easy to wipe down, while velvet backings require extra wiping to remove moisture. Just make sure to use sex toy cleaner on areas that are sure to pick up bodily fluids (like the crotch strap), and pay special attention to metal buckles and buttons (anything that might need more cleaning).
If you are concerned about cleanliness and safety, I would Leave this harness to a dedicated partner And buy a cheaper nylon toy that allows for play with multiple partners and can be cleaned in a 10% bleach solution.
Wiring Harness Advantages
The ring connector is cleverly designed.
The dildo ring is not connected to the harness around the waist. This is nice because any pushing in does not put pressure on the clasps or seams around the dildo (like my old dildo did).
It is easy to adjust.
There are three places to adjust – the side buckles, back corset, and crotch/hip straps. Personally, I didn’t need to make the corset any bigger. The side buckles and back straps were enough to find a comfortable fit.
The pressure is in the right place.
The stretch and strain are no longer placed on the stitching, and all the load-bearing work falls on the metal components.
The crotch is very comfortable.
The strap between the legs can sometimes pull or pinch, or just be uncomfortable overall. I didn’t have any issues with it. Also, the studs that hold the strap in place can be turned. This is great because you can move it to whatever angle you want without putting stress on the material.
This is good for larger people.
Not everyone is a size zero. Since there are various ways to adjust the harness, this harness will fit a wide variety of people. Even as a full-figured girl, I didn’t need to use as much of the strap as I thought I would – which was a nice surprise since I’m used to most harnesses being skinny.
The bodice part is highly adjustable.
Great price
All things considered (material, construction, buckles, straps, and size, not including import taxes), this is a great deal. You can upgrade to leather, but this is great.
Harness Disadvantages
There is only one dildo ring.
This isn’t necessarily a bad thing (since most dildos are about the same circumference), and I think there’s enough room for a slightly larger ring, but I don’t think you’d be able to install your own smaller ring.
That being said, my dildo is small but the base is wide enough to fit in without a problem. Just shop carefully and pay attention to the design and specs of the dildo.
A little rough around the edges.
I don’t find it rough enough to hurt me, but specifically where the edge of the velvet meets the faux leather, I can feel the roughness in some places but not in others.
There are taxes.
If you live outside of the U.S., you will most likely have to pay additional import fees. I had to pay 24 Euros in VAT when I received the item.
The back strap may slip out of place.
This isn’t really a downside, but it’s something to be aware of. The strap that runs from the crotch to the back of the harness has a loop. The loop can slide back and forth so you can position it in a comfortable position. However, this loop is roomy enough that it can slip.
I found that placing the waistband under the loops helped to keep it in place. But if you need a wider waist and the back straps closer to the hips, you won’t be able to do that. It’s not a deal breaker in any way, though.
You need to put the strap on the lower loop (if possible).
The straps on the back trigger my OCD.
This is just a surface level complaint and I’m really picky. Just the nature of the material and the way it’s wrapped causes the hip straps to flex and the sliding loops can be a little unstable.
Of course, this does not affect the function of the harness. And, when you are strapped in the middle, no one cares what your back looks like.
Final Advice
For adjustability alone, I recommend this harness. Buying outside the US is problematic, so you’ll have to factor VAT or other taxes into your budget.
Definitely worth a try.
