Comme des Garçons and G-Dragon launch capsule collection

After weeks of speculation fueled by quietly released trailers, Comme des Garçons and K-pop star G-Dragon have officially announced their first collaboration. The capsule collection is designed to celebrate G-Dragon’s 2025 world tour Übermensch and will be launched as part of an eight-day limited-time stage event at Isetan Shinjuku from December 24 to 31, 2025.

The collaboration was developed under Comme des Garçons’s diffusion line CDG and includes a total of 11 items. The collection speaks the restrained, everyday language of CDG: staff outerwear, coaching jackets, sweatshirts, T-shirts, accessories and bags. Each piece features the limited edition “CDGDC” logo and “Übermensch”. These works are only available in Japan and will be sold at The Stage on the 1st floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building. Due to anticipated demand, purchase restrictions will be in place.

G-Dragon, the fashion icon who transcends the stage

G-Dragon, formerly known as Kwon Jiyong, has long existed in the overlapping space of music, fashion and art. He rose to prominence as the leader of BIGBANG and then launched a solo career characterized by independent creation and constant innovation.

His relationship with Japan is particularly noteworthy. From major tours to solo projects and exhibitions, Japan has been an important exporter of his artistic work, which made collaborating with the Tokyo-born fashion house feel particularly natural. Over the years the soloist has been an ambassador for the following brands: Chanel and Nikewhile developing its own brand, Peaceful and selfless.

The legacy of Comme des Garçons

Founded in 1969 by Rei Kawakubo, Comme des Garçons has never been interested in following the traditional rhythms of fashion. Known for its intellectual approach and resistance to trends, the brand has spent decades questioning what clothing can and should be. Launched in 2018, CDG distills this ethos into a more accessible format, built around the timeless, iconic CDG logo that has become recognized around the world.
