Some of us wonder about the meaning of life and the grand design of the universe; some of us spend our days waxing and waning through philosophizing; and some of us write poetry inspired by the cosmos. But others, still others, have more earthly concerns, like whether or not “butt juice” (for lack of a better word, really) during anal sex is a normal phenomenon. Now, I recognize that those of us who have wondered about our butt juice may also share the deeper philosophical meanderings I mention, but I thought the contrast was a perfect illustration of the wide range of concerns we humans have.
Back to the topic at hand: ass juice! Whether you’re new to anal sex or not, you’ve probably heard the cardinal rule of anal sex early on: assholes not (I repeat, not) self-lubricate like vaginas do, so you should (and indeed, you must) use enough lubricant.
While the above rule should be respected and taken seriously, the question remains: what about your butt juice? If the butt doesn’t self-lubricate, why does your ass produce fluid during sex? A Reddit user dare to ask “What does it mean when your butt leaks a milky, watery substance that looks, smells, and tastes like vaginal discharge or semen?” And yet there are few, if any, good answers. Another Reddit user writes:, “I recently noticed that I don’t need to add any lube. If I finger my ass (without any lube, not even saliva, the finger is raw) it lubricates itself and then I can stick anything in it. Is that okay?”
Let’s break this down, shall we?
What East booty juice?
Good old Urban Dictionary defines “Booty Juice” in so many delicious ways, the most notable of which include: “The stuff that oozes out of your anus after anal sex and a cum explosion” and “A mixture of shit and sweat. That brown liquid residue that oozes out of your butt after a long night of anal sex.”
Yet none of these illuminating definitions really take into account the fact that some people’s butts appear to self-lubricate. during anal, apparently as a result of excitement (rather than after the fact, which is more easily explained).
Thanks to the research of a gay men’s health writer named Bobby Boxthere East There is a scientific explanation here. According to Nicole Prause, a scientist at the sexual biotechnology company Liberos, a lubricating film East Anal lube is actually produced along the anal wall to help move feces through the rectum. Dr. Evan Goldstein, DO and CEO of Bespoke Surgical, also weighs in, explaining, “Anorectal cells innately produce mucus that can be thought of as having a lubricating element. “Scientifically speaking,” Box explains, “anal lube comes from the anal canals when the rectum is distended by the presence of feces. The rectum is also distended by the presence of a penis during anal intercourse, which can lead to increased production of this natural lubricant… That is, your body is experiencing sensations that communicate we might need to poop and is preparing to do so.
Nookie@DatingKinky has this to add: “Here it gets a little gross… if you’ve irritated your rectum enough, the inflamed areas can produce extra pus that will make your butt feel wet…”
So there you have it, feeling better about science confirming the validity of your experience? Yet you may be wondering why this happens to You While others insist that their assholes are dry as the Sahara even as they approach anal euphoria? Well, my friends, we are all unique, aren’t we? We all have a unique set of bodily realities that intersect in complex ways, and it can be very difficult to pinpoint why one person’s body reacts differently to one thing (anal anal anal) than another. It may also have something to do with your partner and how they approach anal. Bottom line: some may not produce any butt juice at all, some may produce a little, and some may produce some a lot ass juice. Facts.
Why Butt Juice Should Never Replace Lube
Although booty juice is slippery and slimy, it’s not really designed for continuous friction on its own, and not Replace the lube needed for any type of anal play. The skin inside your anus is the thinnest skin on your body that is accessible from the outside, so it is easily damaged and can tear without enough (and I mean ENOUGH) lubrication. Silicone-based lubes are generally considered the best option for butts because they are less likely to dry you out than water-based ones.
Bonus tip: In addition to a good lube, relaxation and genuine arousal are key ingredients to good (nay, great) anal sex. Never skip a proper foreplay session during anal sex. If your partner doesn’t understand the importance of foreplay and thinks they can just do it, school their ass or leave it at that, I say. But whatever you do, never have anal sex that isn’t well-oiled. Even if you’re tired and it’s the middle of the night and your partner is rubbing you like their life depends on it and you’ve manifested some of that disgusting ass juice we’ve all heard so much about, run out and get that lube anyway. Keep it nearby and reapply as needed.
Great anal for all. <3
