“Order” by TJ O’Shea is a lesbian adventure love story not to be missed.

At her father’s masquerade ball, witty heiress Luciana Piccolo is left swooning when a mysterious stranger hugs her on the dance floor. She’s excited to break the bonds of her aimless life, but when strangers kidnap her and take her to a rebel camp, she’s less than excited about actually being bound as a prisoner. As Tyler carries out assassinations and leads the rebels, Lucy is forced to accompany her kidnapper, a sudden and ruthless assassin across the war-torn former United States.

As the two fight for survival, they must rely on each other, and the sparks of confrontation begin to ignite the flames of passion. The stakes get higher as secrets are revealed as a battle between new loves and old loyalties threatens to be more dangerous than the war they’re caught in.

writing

order Crafting a unique nation in which tyrants, rebels, and citizens of all classes clash for their ideals. The first chapter masterfully blends playful banter with heart-pounding action, hooking me from the start and taking me on a thrilling journey in more ways than one.

The writing of this book is exquisite, with rich and detailed character descriptions, rich vocabulary, vivid language, vivid perceptual language, and well-timed and profound quotations from classic literature. I found myself highlighting many passages and revisiting them every time I needed a reminder of just how great this book really is.

There was a scene in the book that was so touching that I actually cried. I have cried before while reading, but it is rare to cry like this. Every word conveyed such intense love, pain, and heartache that I felt their emotions as if they were my own. It was an emotional experience that I won’t soon forget.

narration

Just when I thought I couldn’t love this book any more, the audiobook takes my admiration to new heights. Jen Jayden, my new narrator, perfectly embodies the essence of each character. Jaden casts a diverse cast of lead and supporting characters, and he deftly maintains their unique voices. She perfectly delivers humor, emotional depth, and intense action that makes every moment mesmerizing. Even though I’ve read this book multiple times over the years, I still find myself hanging on Jayden’s every word.

Pros and my favorite part

After reading the publisher’s synopsis orderI expected to like it, but I was completely unprepared for how deeply it would grab me. From the first chapter, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. The storyline is so well crafted that it blends gripping scenes of war and violence with a wonderful romance that left me breathless.

Taylor was both an assassin and a lieutenant general in the rebels, a disciplined and determined soldier. She follows orders flawlessly – until she meets Luciana Piccolo, the daughter of a brutal regional leader. There’s a compelling dichotomy in Taylor: She’s a deadly force, but underneath her ruthlessness lurks an empathetic, lonely soul. Despite her unwavering loyalty to the Order, having Lucy on board softens her up, and when her defenses begin to crumble, the transformation that unfolds is truly special.

Lucy is incredible! She loved her father but resented the isolation he imposed on her. To the world she was a privileged heiress who was meant to be seen rather than heard, but deep down she was passionate, talented and fearless. Her true strengths will be revealed when she fights alongside Tyler and her army, facing her enemies head-on. Her sharp wit and sarcasm made me giggle more than once!

The romance between Lucy and Tyler is absolutely heartwarming. Even though Tyler starts out as Lucy’s captive and later becomes her guardian, the attraction between them is undeniable – and mutual. Their chemistry is intense, and as their relationship deepens, my heart soars and aches for them. I love how their love empowers each of them to build the life they truly deserve.

Mason, Hunter, Delilah, Faith, Cassie, Finley and Theia are all important members ordereveryone brings something important to the journey. Their unique drives and contributions enrich the story, making it even more compelling.

in conclusion

Jenna's favorite bookIf I could shout from the rooftops how amazing this book is and that anyone who loves lesbian adventure romance needs to read it, I absolutely would. It’s a beautifully written story with a great protagonist, a stellar supporting cast, and the perfect blend of action, drama, satire, and romance.

I will happily revisit this story again and again because it is a real pleasure to be a part of Lucy, Tyler and their incredible journey. Even though the path is filled with challenges and obstacles, the themes of perseverance, loyalty, courage, and love that run throughout make this book one of the best books I have ever read. Whether you read or listen to audiobooks, you can’t go wrong!

Excerpted from “Order” by TJ O’Shea

As I pondered how best to injure myself with the champagne glass, a husky voice spoke to my ears from behind. “We meet again.”

When I turned around, I stared above the head of the mysterious blonde from before. I ran my tongue over my lips, raised an eyebrow, and looked down at her. “Hello.”

She formally bent down and took my hand. “I’m sorry to bother you, Miss Piccolo, but I’d love to do this dance.” Her seemingly friendly eyes turned cold as she looked at little Jimmy. “You don’t mind, do you?” It didn’t matter whether he did or not, because she forcibly released his grip on my other arm and thrust my champagne glass into his fleshy hand. “I can?”

As soon as I nodded, she took me to the dance floor. I breathed a sigh of relief when we were out of reach of cute little Jimmy. “You are my hero.”

We were on the dance floor with others, gyrating around the dance floor to the arrangement of a small orchestra. Our feet followed the music perfectly on the waxed hardwood, moving effortlessly through the ballroom. I love waltzing as much as the next heiress, but it’s rude to dance with strangers. I have to admit, though, that it was rude to dance with the district leader’s daughter without introducing myself, which was fitting for the woman who made Chief Jones furious.

“So,” I began, “does my savior have a name?”

“Tyler.”
