As more and more people accept the identity of "asexuality",

As the term “sexual orientation couple” appears on social media, more and more people are defining themselves as “sexual orientation couples”.

People whose sexual orientation changes over time are called “asexual.” A person may be attracted to different sexes or have different levels of sexual attraction at different times in their life.

Emma Flint found her community through social media.

“It wasn’t until I was reading the Instagram page of Zoe Stoller, an American creator, educator, and social worker dedicated to increasing visibility for the LGBTQ+ community, that I first came across the term ‘abrosexuality’,” Flint wrote in a recent Metro article.

“You know how in cartoons a lightbulb appears over their heads? That’s how I felt when I read their posts. I finally felt seen.”

She shared that one day she was a lesbian and then the next day she was bisexual, which led some to question or doubt her claims, and she has written about her identity before.

But finally finding a word to describe her gender identity at age 30 gave her a sense of confidence.

“I’m no longer nervous about my sexuality because it makes sense to me, and at the end of the day, that’s all that really matters,” Flint said.

Axolotism is often described as a gender-fluid sexual orientation, but it is not necessarily associated with a sexual orientation.

Gender fluidity is the way a person identifies, while sexual orientation fluidity describes a person’s sexual interests.

“There are no overarching clues, personality traits or physical beauty that indicate a person’s sexual orientation, and this applies to sexual orientation as much as any other sexual orientation or gender,” Nadger, a queer sexuality scholar, told Vogue.

Axolotism is often described as a gender-fluid sexual orientation.

It differs from pansexuality (feeling sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction to people of all genders, regardless of their sex or gender identity) and polysexuality (feeling sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction to people of many but not all genders) in that these people are attracted to a specific gender, which can change.

There is no specific time frame for how long a person will be attracted to a particular gender.

The community has continued to grow in recent years as more and more people share their queer stories and fly the green, white and pink flag.

TikToker @lucaismagic said in a widely circulated TikTok video: “Even though people don’t talk about this topic very much, it’s very, very effective,” and announced that she is asexual.

The video helped several others use the term as well.

“OML, is there a name? I’ve been feeling this way for a long time??” someone said.

Another wrote: “Wait a minute that’s so accurate to me thanks for explaining it.”
