A surprising number of Americans are willing to host weddings
Will your wedding cake or dress be branded? According to new research, 6 in 10 Americans would let a brand sponsor their wedding.
This shocking statistic comes from a survey of 2,000 Americans that examined attitudes toward wedding spending and found that many would happily consider having their favorite brands make a significant contribution to wedding expenses.
Among those who have ever been married or are considering getting married, 61% said they would consider a brand sponsor for their big day or had considered it when they first got married.
A survey conducted by Talker Research found that only 32% of respondents would reject all brand enhancements if additional funding was provided for wedding costs.
How much effort does it take for a brand to be a part of people’s most cherished day? Research shows that organizations need to pay 65% of wedding costs to be included in some way.
However, people seem happy to keep an open mind if their favorite brand is willing to cover the entire cost of the day. Many (58%) will feature brand sponsors as signature cocktails, or display the brand’s image on wedding stationery, napkins or table settings.
One in three (33%) people would be happy to have their favorite brand’s mascot as a guest at a wedding if the brand covered the entire cost of the wedding.
One in five people will even let a brand mascot officiate their wedding (20%).
And more than half (54%) would be happy for brands to give away freebies and merchandise to guests.
One in six people would even have their favorite brand logo printed on their wedding dress if they had time on their wedding day. Perhaps not surprisingly, men are more likely than women to agree with this (21% vs. 14%).
If their favorite brand paid for their entire wedding, Americans would…
Signature cocktails inspired by the brand (58%)
Brand logo on table plan, sign or invitation (57%)
Branded products given away on the day (54%)
Brand logo on wedding cake (33%)
Mascots attend weddings (33%)
Mascot or brand representative officiates wedding (20%)
Mention brands in pledges (18%)
Brand logo on wedding dress (17%)
