The flyer fell asleep on the neighbor’s shoulder, and her boyfriend took her away

A white woman in her early 30s slept on an airplane seat with her cellphone while a man used a laptop in the seat behind her.

Talk about an unforgettable flight.

Everyone knows the feeling – you’re dozing off mid-flight, your head swaying from side to side while trying to find a comfortable sleeping position.

Well, one sleepy passenger went through this experience until she finally felt comfortable enough to unknowingly grab some Z’s onto her shoulders in her seat.

To make matters worse, her boyfriend appeared to be pillow-kicking his girlfriend for a photo – and is now being slammed on social media for not helping her.

The flyer shared what happened on TikTok.

Wearing sunglasses and looking into the camera, her video, which now has nearly 2 million views, was overlaid with text: “You get off the plane and the woman next to you immediately voice-texts her friend and says ‘this was the worst flight ever and I’ll text you later…all about it’ and at the same time my boyfriend told me I slept on her shoulder the entire flight and he accidentally took a live photo (with a flash she added in the comments section).”

The viral video has over 300 comments, with most people wondering why the boyfriend didn’t wake up his sleepy girlfriend.

“We’re not mad at our boyfriends enough.”

“Why did he let this happen and why didn’t she do something, they are both the villains here.”

“Why did he let you do this?”

“I’d be mad at my boyfriend’s brother.”

“Why doesn’t your boyfriend gently move your head to his shoulder?”

All jokes aside, while this sleeping situation may have been awkward, at least this passenger was able to get some sleep on the flight.

Experts say many passengers have trouble falling asleep on planes because dry air, background noise and dim lighting put the brain in a semi-alert state. Friends Stock – stock.adobe.com

For those who have trouble falling asleep in the air in any position, travel expert Dr. Rachel Keene recommends the 4-7-8 breathing technique: Breathe in for four seconds, hold your breath for seven seconds, and exhale slowly for eight seconds.

“If you repeat the exercise for two minutes, your heart rate will slow down and tell your body it’s safe to rest,” Keane told the Daily Mail.

“Yoga breathing techniques can calm the body and bring it into a more relaxed state,” she explains. “This kind of breathing can help us center our minds and bodies and stay away from worrying and repetitive thoughts,” says integrative medicine expert Dr. Melissa Young.

Young adds that breathing techniques on an airplane are “a way to focus your mind on something other than your worries.”
