Boyfriend asks friend to flirt with girlfriend to test her
Curious minds wonder.
A sneaky boyfriend used social media to see if his girlfriend of almost two years would cheat on him – and the results were messy.
His shocked girlfriend shared what happened on Reddit’s r/TwoHotTakes forum – because where else can people turn for advice in this day and age?
The Gen Zer explained how she randomly received a private message on Instagram from someone who turned out to be one of her boyfriend’s friends, without her knowing at the time.
“He was innocent at first, saying he saw me at a concert and complimented my outfit. I was polite but brief,” she wrote.
She went on to explain, “After a few messages, he started flirting. I didn’t flirt back, but I wasn’t rude either, just a ‘haha thanks’ type response. Then all of a sudden, my boyfriend confronted me and said I ‘didn’t pass his fidelity test.'” Apparently, he had his friends come to me to ‘see what I would do. ‘”
The girlfriend may not think she did anything wrong, but her sneaky boyfriend definitely thinks she did.
He told her that she should not associate with “strangers” and should stop him immediately.
“Now he says if I really loved him I wouldn’t be so defensive,” the distressed girlfriend wrote.
As you might imagine, many people in the comments came to the girlfriend’s defense.
“If someone has to create betrayal to feel safe, they’re not looking for love, they’re looking for control. You’re failing the test, it’s the relationship.”
“If you really loved him? No. If he really loved you, he wouldn’t play such a stupid game. Let him know that this trick of his has failed you. You don’t need his bullshit.”
“…even if you pass his test, he will test you again in the future, finding new ways to fail. That insecurity doesn’t go away.”

“If anything, the boyfriend didn’t ask his partner to do it in the first place.”
However, to play devil’s advocate, the man may seek help from his close friends, but some women go to the extreme and actually hire a “beauty trap” to catch their boyfriend cheating.
“They’re sneaking into my inbox asking me to flirt with their boyfriend to see if he’s going to cheat,” Lana Madison, a 29-year-old influencer who runs her lucrative business, told Jam Press.
“Spoiler alert – a lot of people do. I didn’t set out to be a real-life honey trap. But when some girls online saw how I looked and what I did, they realized I was the ultimate seductress.”
Madion sees it as a win-win: She makes some money, and girlfriends get to see if their men are loyal. “If your man rejects my advances, then he’s reliable – if not, you’ve got your answer. I’m not here to ruin relationships – I’m just giving women receipts.”
