A man walks with his children 3500-year-old dagger -

A man walks with his family and discovers a Bronze Age dagger near the village of Goodesleben in Turiya, central Germany. This is a broken dagger from the Bronze Age, which has a history of 3,500 years.

The dagger with a spotted plate is characterized by its flat pattern, enlarged at the top. They have two rivet holes that pierce the handle-mounted Don’s shoulder. The handle is made from organic materials such as bone, antlers, or wood, which is why only leaves usually survive.

Ancient dagger blades like this are not common so that random passers-by can find them, especially in such good condition. Archaeologists speculate that heavy rain in recent days will disperse the soil covering the covering and wash the dagger to the surface. Finder Maik Böhner didn’t recover it by himself, even though it just sat on top of some leaves. He reported it to the mayor and local monument preservation officers, and then communicated the news to the Turingi State Office in Weimar to commemorate monument preservation and archaeology.

The dagger is now at the restoration workshop in the Weimar State office, where it will be cleaned, preserved and analyzed. After the protection is completed, the artifact will be on display at the Elich Local History Museum.
