Statue of Bronze Celtic Warrior Found in Bavaria –
A rare bronze figurine of the armed warrior is a thousand artifacts unearthed in a recent excavation concluded by Celtic Oppidum, a Bavaria. He was depicted with a shield raised from his left arm and a sword in his right hand. There is a loop at the top of the character’s head, indicating that it may have been worn as a pendant. The figurine was found in a ditch that is considered a border. Recycled from the same floor to pottery from the 3rd century BC
The warrior is only 75mm (three inches) tall and weighs 55 grams (two ounces), which is small but very complicated. It is made using lost wax casting technology, which involves creating detailed models from wax, wrapping it in clay, and melting it. The molten bronze is then poured into the opening and filled with the cavity that was once occupied by the wax map.

Between 2021 and 2024, archaeologists from the Bavarian State Monument Conservation Office (BLFD) have excavated 6,800 square meters of Celtic fortification settlements in Southeast Ingolstadt, reclaiming more than 40,000 discoveries. BLFD has comprehensive standards for recording and preserving all archaeological artifacts, including X-rays that require all metal objects. This process not only helps identify discoveries, but also allows them to be preserved, as different metals require different climate control environments to prevent deterioration.
Metal Discovery recovered 15,268 pieces from currency excavations, all of which were X-rayed on the BLFD Munich facility before protection. Many of them are debris and waste from metal work. X-ray examinations provide archaeologists with new insights on manufacturing techniques, materials and metal recycling in Oppidum workshops.
X-rays from the bronze figurine show that the object is thickly wrapped with copper corrosion products that mask its details and are Celtic warriors made of solid bronze castings.
The meticulousness and scope of the excavation provide archaeologists with new insights into how Oppidum residents live. They were able to identify the bones and scales for the first time, confirming the consumption of the fish, which you think is obvious given its location on the Paar and the Danube, but there has never been an archaeological record in fact. These findings also confirm that Oppidum’s diet includes beef and pork. Horses were slaughtered, but only at their age, so not for food. Renewable resources for sheep and goats (wool, milk) instead of meat instead of meat.
In Grimmer news about currency, the thief who broke into a museum in November 2022 and stole 482 Celtic Gold Coins has been convicted and sentenced. The main suspect was sentenced to 11 years in prison. The two young men he was breaking into were seven years, four years, and nine months respectively. (The fourth suspect was sentenced to eight years in prison, but for other thefts brought by the gang, it was not for theft.) At least it was just, but unfortunately, none of them pleaded guilty and had no information. The stolen treasure is still very large. This is assuming that any of them still exists because these…individuals… melted coins are found.
