Katamari damacy pop-up cafe opens in Shibuya parco

Cute action video game Katamari Damsy The first formal comprehensive cooperative cafe is entering the real world. It will be held at the Tokyo Parade Merchant and Cafe from July 25 to September 2.

Originally released by Namco in 2004 Katamari Damsy Quickly earned a follower of its quirky art direction, fascinating soundtrack and surreal gameplay. The game follows a short prince, known as the prince, who rolls a sticky ball called A Katamari In increasingly strange environments, collect objects from stationery to skyscrapers and more.

The game has been praised for its originality and sense of humor, which has become a cult classic. Now, twenty years after its debut, fans can finally experience the quirky world of Catamali in real life.

What to expect: Food, drinks and exclusive merchandise

The cafe offers an interesting menu inspired by the strange phases of iconic characters and the game. A remarkable performance of the Mio Soup and Onigiri suit – a tribute to the prince’s cousin Miso – in a bowl shaped like a character’s head, paired with thick rice balls, designed to resemble Katamari. Dessert options include citing some of the most memorable levels of the game, such as ice cream plates nodding to the infamous cattle sloping, and jelly parfait inspired by all the kings of the universe. Even the drinks are themed on key characters.

Through each food or beverage order, visitors will receive one of eight limited edition katamari coasters and will be distributed randomly.

The specialized merchandise corner bypasses the experience and offers a selection of exclusive items. Highlights include trading acrylic mascots, holographic stickers, pocket thermos, a Konpeito A faithful replica of candy jars, sacco cut bags and flavour o bowls. Many of these projects are unique to pop-ups and are available in a limited number.

How to book

Katamari Damacy Cafe will be open daily from 10:00 to 9:00 PM in Shibuya Parco, located within Tokyo Parade Goods & Cafe. Booking is strongly recommended, which can be made through the official CAFE website.

While walk-in seating can be provided based on capacity, visitors who book online bookings will receive exclusive Katamari Damacy paper cards upon arrival.
