This is how we do the perfect little wedding

I do, but I have no debts.

The bride relies on this clever trick and abandons some traditions to cancel the picture perfect wedding on a budget.

Lauren Ingham, 30, and husband Andy, 33, just bought their first home when they were engaged, which means a lot of money has been spent.

But when critics say they can’t budget for a dream wedding, Lauren begins to prove they are wrong.

“We’ve always wanted to have an undervalued wedding because we have other things to spend, like doing a new house,” she told What is Jam.

“No matter how special it is.

The couple got married in a registry office and then held a free reception at a local restaurant and invited 22 guests to celebrate the day. They chose a three-course dinner for $50 per person and a cocktail of $325.

Instead of an expensive invitation, Lauren sent free text messages instead of a $700 cake, but offered a $80 donut tower.

A cheeky trick helped expand the budget further-she didn’t tell the vendor that it was her wedding.

“When people hear the word ‘wedding’, they double the price,” Lauren explained.

“I often say anything I buy is a birthday, so I can be cheaper.”

DIY decorations are made of reclamation wood, discounted crafts and handmade floral arrangements brought by friends.

Her stepfather Derek took photos for free, and the Spotify playlist replaced the DJ, so the savings piled up.

Her $1,200 wedding dress from a local boutique is where she splurges — but is still much lower than most special white dresses.

Inghams’ wedding is everything they want and they don’t take more time than they want.

Laura strongly insists on setting a budget and sticking with it is the best choice.

“If you start using a credit card, you will make other purchases and the debt will increase quickly. It’s a fatal option,” she said.

“I can’t imagine a day that thousands of times – no matter how special it is. I stick to the gun and make it work,” Lauren said. Jam Press/Derek Arthur

She also recommends building a mood board to take help from others, noting: “Following others on social media or sticking to trends will only increase prices.”

“I just didn’t pay for something I didn’t want,” she said.
