Where to see cherry blossoms near Akasaka in Tokyo

When spring arrives in Tokyo, the city changes as the cherry blossoms paint the cityscape in delicate pink tones. While famous attractions like Ueno Park and the Meguro River attract the crowd along the crowd, savvy locals will find that some of the most fascinating cherry blossoms are hidden in other urban corners of the city.

Here is our guide to four spectacular cherry blossom viewing sites centered on akasaka Hanami (Sakura Watching) In the city center, there is no overwhelming crowd.

Akasaka Sacas

Akasaka Sacas is an incredibly charming cherry blossom area with about 100 cherry trees transforming the entire area into a vibrant pink landscape in spring. Its branches stacked into rich pink flowers usually bloom from late March to early April and creates dramatic photo opportunities with the smooth glass facade on the tower.

A row of rows are displayed from the Akasaka Biz Tower (or Sakura Hill) in Sakurazaka, with a row of light pink, five-leaf flowers. These are all classic Japanese cherry blossoms. They are the diversity used by Japanese Meteorological Corporation when conducting annual cherry blossom forecasts. They usually bloom in late March or early April, but may vary every year.

Given the variety of trees here, you may encounter blooming branches throughout the spring. The Biz Tower-Adjacent area is also home to early flowering devices such as the bell-shaped, dark pink Kanhizakura and Kawazuzakura, which bloom from late February to early March. You can also find almost white Yamazakura, as well as fluffy, multi-layered varieties that bloom from the middle to late stages. Adjacent to the TBS Akasaka Act Theater, look for several Kikuzakuras that can last until early May.

Seasonal light show plus atmosphere: From March 1 to April 30, the interior of the Akasaka Biz Tower will be lit with pink, cherry blossom-themed lighting. The tower’s open square provides ample space to admire the flowers without feeling cramped and offers several cafes, restaurants and shops in a complex offer Specialties with cherry blossom theme. Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Attachment

This sloping street connecting Roppongi and Azabu is lined with cherry trees, creating a flowering tunnel during peak season. Sakurazaka easily goes from Roppongi Hills to the hustle and bustle, but excels from its hustle and bustle, providing a peaceful alternative to the more crowded viewing locations nearby.

Sakurazaka’s cherry blossom heritage dates back to the Edo era, when the area was famous for its spectacular spring display.
