A New York woman says her father asked her new boyfriend to answer 20 personal questions to make sure he met his extremely high standards.

Uzo Njoku, 28, shared the saga, along with some probing questions, in an X post that went viral after being posted last week.

“My dad sent me a PDF of 20 questions about my boyfriend that I had to answer before I could introduce them,” the Manhattan-based artist explains in her first post.

She later shared 11 of the questions and said she deleted “some very personal” ones that her inquisitive father wanted answers to.

First, Njoku’s father wanted to know her boyfriend’s “important personal stories” that “shaped him into who he is today.”

Additionally, the father would like to know details about the man’s education, employment, family medical history (including past surgeries), and smoking, drinking, and drug use.

The curious parent also begged Njoku to give details about her new boyfriend’s past relationships, including explaining why he and his previous girlfriend were on bad terms.

Njoku suggested that her father, who is Nigerian, had gone too far and shared two angry emojis related to the situation.

“They want me to be single for the rest of my life,” she added.

However, many X users disagreed, saying Njoku’s father was making sure she didn’t encounter any “blind spots.”

“Sounds like your dad doesn’t play games – he’s basically running TSA for your love life,” one impressed X user wrote.

“Classic Nigerian dad move,” declared a second. “A thorough review is required.”

“I love that guy,” cheered a third. “He’s trying to be a good father.”
