Review: Twilight Meadow Creations Selkie Knot Dildo

The Selkie from Twilight Meadow Creations combines a mermaid and a knot into a dildo that seems to play directly into my fantasies. How does this shape work? Is it enough for someone like me who craves texture?

Design and specifications

Twilight Meadow Creations is a queer-owned business that produces “body-safe fantasy toys and soft sculptures in platinum silicone with fantasy styles inspired by Scandinavian and Celtic mythology.” Turns out , this inspiration spans a range of models, from plant-inspired dildos to stunningly detailed skeletal monsters and even a knight’s fist, TMC creates magic with its unique infusion.

The Selkie is a short, thick dildo with a knot that takes up about half of the upper part of the stem. The rounded curves almost make it look cute or elegant, but to me it ends up looking sexy because it’s a fat cock sticking out of the slit.

The character art on the model page is equally sexy, with a sealskin-clad woman lying on a rocky shore, her knotted penis hard between her legs. As far as I know, this is one of the few standalone dildos where the character is a trans woman.

(I have a thing for mermaids, sex toys, and porn. It’s a wonder I didn’t buy Selkie when I found out it existed.)

The small Selkie has a maximum girth of 2.1 inches in diameter/6.9 inches in circumference, which is right within my comfort range for dildos, but smaller than the sizes I usually knot. The hump above the knot is 1.7 inches in diameter/5.5 inches in circumference. The stem is 0.7″ long on one side and 1.3-1.7″ long on the other side (depending on how you measure), with a circumference of approximately 1.6″ diameter/5.2″ circumference.

It’s smooth and doesn’t have any texture, which wouldn’t normally be my first choice, but I’ve had smooth dildos before that were in great shape and worked fine for me. When the hardness is 00-50, the hardness is moderate but the shape is maintained well. Smooth, satin finish: More matte than glossy, but quite smooth finish.

My Selkie is a gorgeous sunset marble that comes in purple, pink, orange and yellow. It comes with a sticker and a small cotton bag with the logo. Selfies can be obtained through inventory restocks (like mine), surprise customs, and the occasional guided customs.

The current base price for small Selkies is SEK 800 (USD 72.50). All orders are subject to a small handling fee (SEK 20/less than USD 2). You can use the following code to get 5% off your order: FROST

In use (vagina)

The ridges on the top of the head and shaft are super easy to get into and feel super smooth. My Selkie is firm enough that it doesn’t lose feel, so I feel a little fuller, but it doesn’t have curves that press into my favorite spots. The smooth feel is perfect for this surface because it’s not so smooth that it loses lubrication, but it’s also not matte enough to feel rough.

I find that ball/round knots are more uncomfortable for me than oval knots of similar circumference. This one is round, but it’s in my comfort zone, so I get uncomfortable stretches, but only when I’m not fully warmed up. It’s easy to get in after warming up, and the padding is comfortable but not stretchy.

Knotting is easy with a Selkie of this size. I can open and untie knots at a moderate pace. When pushing at higher speeds, I might end up halfway into the knot because it takes more concentrated force to push the knot all the way inside.

Whether or not the knot can be locked is hit and miss. Part of it is the small size, but I’ve had plugs that were slimmer than this and locked in pretty well, so part of it is the design. Head up, it won’t stay in. From the side it looks like it will stay in, but not for long. Flip it over, and if I sit on it or tighten my muscles, it locks in, so we’ll consider that a success.

When it locks in like this, it fills up and its sturdiness ensures I never forget it’s there. I like to think of it as a plug by holding it in place and rubbing my clitoris; the base doesn’t get in the way of my hand.

The underside of the stem is slightly longer, making it easier to tie the knot without getting in the way of the base. If the stem were half an inch longer around the stem, I think the chance of locking would be much greater.

The shape of the base is great, allowing me to grab part of it with my fingers, or the entire base with my hands, but it’s easy to get lube on it when it’s knotted, and it’s hard to hold onto anything afterwards. part of the base. For knotting or as a plug, I guess I wouldn’t mind, but for knotting, it’s pretty inconvenient.

In use (anal)

I tried this because it was smaller on one side and I would really like to try anal one day.

I’m more sensitive and less experienced with anal toys, so the smooth dildo was appealing. It holds up well on the towel when I use my hands elsewhere, so no matter how balanced the base is, I respect it.

The upper shaft is large for me, but the smoothness makes it very forgiving and easy to get used to. I love the stretch I get when I push down on the top of the knot. The knot itself is too ambitious for me at the moment, but I’m pretty sure I can make it work with enough practice. (I’ll come back and update this if I do.) This is something I definitely want to achieve, though; this knot is challenging enough to be padding, short enough to be comfortable, and smooth enough not to irritate my sensitivities skin.

Since I can only barely lock the vagina with the small size, I don’t want to try a shorter stem in case it doesn’t lock at all, so I’m not considering the mini size right now.

Comprehensive

The Selkie from Twilight Meadow Creations suits my taste both visually and fantasy-wise, and it has a smooth knot that’s perfect for tying. The small size knot is well within my comfort zone and easy to tie, but doesn’t lock well at all angles due to the short stem. The Selkie fits into my collection as a warm-up toy and gentle plug for vaginal use, as well as one I plan to one day overcome the challenges of anal use.

I downsized for my Selkie; the medium size is comparable to other challenging knots I like. For those who want the knot to be locked, I recommend choosing a size with the knot circumference closer to the largest size, with the caveat that the roundness may make insertion uncomfortable (if your body is picky about this like mine). For knotting, downsizing works well.
