A newlywed is considering jumping ship a week after her wedding because of her husband’s cheating during the wedding.

“Overall, his family seems to be prioritizing their own interests and needs over our best interests as a couple,” the newlywed, 25, fumed in a post on Reddit , the post has now been deleted.

Due to a miscommunication, the bride claimed that the groom’s parents mistakenly thought they could use the bouquet arranged by the bride’s florist for free.

The bride was left “very embarrassed” by her in-laws when they were told they needed to pay $400 at the rehearsal dinner.

“At dinner, his parents loudly said to me and my husband that they didn’t know they had to pay for flowers, which was obviously within earshot of my parents,” she recalled. “Bringing it up during dinner created unnecessary tension and made me feel uncomfortable when I should be enjoying my evening.”

According to People magazine, the situation worsened during the wedding when the woman’s in-laws ignored the agreed-upon photo schedule and demanded more photos be taken behind her back, thus taking up the bride’s photo time.

When this Reddit user brought up these concerns to her boyfriend, he didn’t think it was a big deal.

Then, 15 minutes before the ceremony, the bride was told that the groom’s 15-year-old sister would give a speech, even though the speech was supposed to happen at rehearsal – another imposition that her significant other didn’t seem to care much about. .

The sibling’s request seemed particularly brazen given the groom’s claim that he had informed his sister of the speech policy.

She later learned that “her husband]had lied and had his sister give a speech at rehearsals.” [instead of the wedding]”.

Despite the wedding-breaking atrocity, the bride texted the groom to tell him not to mention the incident to his parents, only for him to ignore her and inform them.

This was reportedly the final straw and the bride felt she needed to call off the marriage.

When she pitched the idea to other Reddit users, many claimed she was overreacting.

One person said: “An annulment is made when you find out he has a secret family in the UK, not because your wedding didn’t go as planned.”

“You turned a small administrative matter at your wedding into a character flaw,” another accused. “You can cancel your wedding and say your husband doesn’t care about you, but it’s just the little things like the speeches at the wedding, the photos at the wedding, and the flowers at the wedding. What about your entire dating life?”

They added, “How did we get to this point where our major life decisions are based on the actions of our in-laws on our wedding day, rather than the full relationship we build beyond the wedding?”

“It’s all common wedding stress – nothing out of the ordinary,” said a third. “I feel like if you’re already willing to give up, you probably weren’t that committed in the first place.”
